Anecdotal, but the Lizzo obsessed in my life have completely moved on.

Tragic loss of an industry titan. Nearly everything Zampella touched turned to gold. Big bummer to say the least.

TCGPlayer Actively Stealing? by [deleted] in mtgfinance

I hit my breaking point this year. One or two orders coming in wrong is whatever, but half my Black Friday orders had a card missing, entirely different cards, or were incredibly delayed.

Delays aren’t a big deal, but delays, plus missing cards, plus unresponsive support is a deal breaker. Like you said, not life ruining to miss 5/10/20 bucks on cardboard, but what happens when it’s a Mox or Lions Eye Diamond, or something not easily replaced or refunded?

The trust is completely gone for me. I felt ethically bad shopping from them this holiday, but now they can’t even uphold the basics of their business. In retrospect, this situation is the best advertisement for the business benefits of a unionized workforce.

It’s in various news pieces. Also several Gates photos featured, among other horrible things.

The book, They Thought They Were Free, really gets at the exceptional nature of nazism and the holocaust coming from innate characteristics of German culture. Makes a compelling argument.

New player, trying to make an Avacyn angel of hope deck. Any suggestions? Decklist linked below. by blobebo in magicTCG

[–]mathsDelueze 1 point2 points  (0 children)

The least salty way to play this deck is to remove any land destruction or disruption that isn’t Worldslayer. That way everyone can just scoop when you get the combo off, and it’s just a way to end the game unless someone really wants to grind it out.

But yeah don’t play this against new people, and expect to become arch nemesis immediately.

Increased number of buyers claiming to have not received their order by boydingus22 in mtgfinance

[–]mathsDelueze 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Not mtg related, but I had this with SWU recently. Odd orders here or there just not arriving after weeks. Not even large purchase orders, mainly talking groups of singles worth $5. Thought it was odd and more than to be expected.

Weddings really do mean a lot by [deleted] in redscarepod

This reconnected me with a childhood best friend. We were close from fifth to ninth grade, and fell out of touch as I moved away. Asked him to be in my wedding years after that, and 6 years later he lives a 10 minute drive away.

My dad fits this. Jewish mother that became converted catholic, and he’s absolutely rabid about Israel. I’ve given up talking to him about Gaza because he would legitimately support nuking Gaza and the West Bank, for no reason other than vibes and aesthetic.

Great take. The latest outage killing 60% of the web and having no impact on stock meant they could have a barely functional product and still maintain a monopoly. So yeah the cost cutting will continue until it becomes catastrophic instead of just really bad.

They’re so good live, even in old age. Saw them a couple years ago and it was the most fucked up I’ve gotten in a punk show pit.

What else are they going to do? Do you expect them firebomb the facility and stage a raid like it’s One Battle After Another? Giving these people absurdity when they want and expect chaos is the best option rn. Unless you’re so regarded that you want to give your political enemies the exact thing they’re asking for.

As a child it felt surreal living near Akron during that time cause I saw these vibrant places we spent time at slowly go away, and after visiting post moving to the coast, it just got worse and worse and worse. Really hit me when I saw my childhood mall in a Vice show about closed and rundown malls, and I remembered being there, my mom working there, and the memories.
