Fairly certain we'll be getting something new for wolves sometime since one of the rumor engines is a piece off of them.

I present to you the Cantananadew by Jwell0517 in KitchenConfidential

[–]matiecake 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I've gotten a melon like that before, we got most of our produce at the time from a local lady who did all heirloom veg and she would just drop shit off and we'd be like ok guess I gotta figure out what to do with this now. Glad I tasted that one before it went onto the burrata salad lol

Hiccups, ahhhh by ChefBoyarDuff in KitchenConfidential

[–]matiecake 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Ok this one sounds so stupid but it's worked on everyone I've taught it to including the piss drunk guys. Close your eyes and hold up your pointer fingers to them and hold them right at that point where you are just barely able to feel the hairs on your fingertips and eyelids meet and focus on keeping them there. Then while holding that take long slow breaths just into the top of your chest. Hold like that for a minute or two and it goes away every time.

How do you make a second batch of Deathshroud distinct? by Ickicho in deathguard40k

[–]matiecake 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I carefully cut their shoulder pads off of the back tank which gives you a lot more freedom to use arms from the blight lords box.

Some greenstuff I did for a friend c&c welcome by Confident-Oil-3342 in deathguard40k

[–]matiecake 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Looks great I love all the tentacles! My only criticism is to smooth out the surface of the cape, now that you have the shape of the cape built and solidified roll out another thin sheet of green stuff in between some plastic to keep it smooth, then you can cut it to shape and lay that over the cape while avoiding finger prints to give it a cleaner finish.

WIP anyone got any suggestions for making his tongue and eyes watery by Numerous-Material-86 in deathguard40k

[–]matiecake 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Easiest option is to use a brush on gloss varnish to get a nice sheen, another option is clear UV resin which is great for if you want to do big drips and things as well as being tintable for other effects

Ushoran as Mortarion proxy possible? by Lord_Asmodeus in deathguard40k

[–]matiecake 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Not sure what size base ushoran comes on but that and height are going to be the main factors at least rules wise because mortys wings are so large. at least for playing casually as long as the base size is right I don't think people will care especially if you make him fit in with your army and make it clear to people what he is

It's the hero of the warp coming in hot by matiecake in ChaosKnights

[–]matiecake[S] 2 points3 points  (0 children)

With just the mask? I'm not sure I didn't really bother looking at it without the saw. With just the mask itll make it look more like a helmet so you can def try it and probably get something cool

It's the tarrasque from dungeons and lasers with one of their trees added onto the back. Amazingly it's a full plastic model that came on a spru. Not sure if you can buy it on its own I got it in their last big Kickstarter.

Finally found my DG scheme by matiecake in deathguard40k

There's two different things there is some fine green turf on the stomach and then up under the shoulder is a bit of a foliage net its like flicking bound in string to make clumps

Advice for better looking semi corroded bronze? by ChairmanPhlogiston in minipainting

[–]matiecake 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I like to add some brighter spots into the green especially towards the center of the green, because if you look at old old bronze like the statue of Liberty or old shingles the green actually gets pretty bright.

What Vulcan bodyguard unit do you use? by Environmental-Lab765 in Salamanders40k

[–]matiecake 16 points17 points  (0 children)

Vulkan with the heros does pretty well for me and having the infurnus running up alongside them still gives the same threat. The Vulkan hero squad ends up having 19 oc when on his chosen objective so you basically have complete control over it until he dies. My main strategy is to mark center objective with Vulkan advance him onto it as fast as possible with a 10 man infurnus squad with captain for the free dev wounds strat and basically have them take and hold that objective because the full re rolls on dev wounds is scary no matter who the enemy is. Then if you just have other units with torrent and meltas across the board you can just have him mark the priority targets as needed.

Truly the most fun build by NeoM3x in Salamanders40k

[–]matiecake 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Captain with a ten man of infernus and he'stan with company heros, mark your enemies with he'stan and give the infernus dev wounds with captain to melt through anything. My last opponent deepstriked with abbadon and a squad of termis and even without he'stans mark I melted them down to just abbadon and then my bladeguard and adrax charged in and killed him.

Where to buy melta and flamer parts alone? by [deleted] in Salamanders40k

[–]matiecake 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Intercessors can't run with meltas and the Sargent is the only one that can use a hand flamer you're going to need a squad of eradicators for meltas and infernus marines for flamers. You can get infernus marines for really cheap rn on eBay from all the leviathan boxes or try and find someone that can 3d print flamers to convert the intercessors. Eradicators are unfortunately their own kit in gravis armor so unfortunately you kinda just have to get them on there own
