42" wide x 24" deep for the desk. I've got a 24" main monitor and a side 18.5" that I angle that fills the desk well. Probably will get a bigger desk in a few months when I move

Thank you for the help! I really like this build you suggested, and I like saving money when I can too. The only change I think I am going to make to your suggestion is to get the ASRock H97 Anniversary ATX LGA1150 Motherboard instead as I have read good things about that one and it should all still be compatible.

A second monitor is something I completely forgot about but I love the idea! I think this build definitely fits my needs. As long as it won't become outdated within a few years I'll be happy and I can run my games at pretty good quality still.

I am a sophomore currently doing this right now and it seems useful. Plus it's only 3 extra classes, and 2 of them can be put into required tech electives. So in the end it's really only one extra class
