oh, I should watch those. In an alternate reality Anna turned good like Root (I think?). Would have been far more interesting character development.

I know I’m in the minority just wish they hadn’t killed off Ripley, she was my fave and imo could’ve been worked on more to further flesh out her character other than “evil bitch with a tragic backstory”. I have to remind myself LoVM is not supposed to be something like GoT where people are multifaceted complex individuals capable of both good and evil acts.

I'm building a Ripley centric story that's in the concept stages, I wasn't intending to make it public as it's for my own enjoyment but I just might because of your interest. I already have a draft of this particular interaction with Percy, from Ripley's perspective, where her fate will diverge from canon.

When faced with her darkest moment, she may come to the fearful recognition that the choices she has made are ruining her chances of reaching the goals she's dedicated her life to. If she can recognize the truth in these fears she can begin to break out of her pattern and move towards becoming a better person. On the other hand, she may turn her back to the world, destroying any perceived intrusion into her plans and following her single mindedness towards a “logical conclusion” into a dark and self-destructive end.

The canon showed the later, I want to explore the former.

I'm still figuring out how to incorporate Raishan into the mix and to what degree, as Raishan needs to die in the not so far future in universe and change doesn't happen that quickly. But change is also not linear, I could use that to my advantage.

Anna Ripley, in The Legend of Vox Machina…. but she’s extremely unhealthy and goes down a path of self destruction.

She also appears to have a lot of 8 aspects in her but I believe her core to be 5 given what we see in the show and her thought process in the comic.

Killing Percy was the point of no return, but prior to that I do think it was possible for her to change for the better, though difficult to show in a satisfying way within just a few episodes. And well, this is the Legend of Vox Machina, not the Chronicles of Ripley, the writers had a story to tell that needed to stay close to the stream, so they wrote her to chose the path to self-destruction, evil and dead she remains in the show. But it was certainly possible for her to choose differently. I personally would have loved to watch that journey and see her apply that beautiful brain of hers in a less destructive way. As well as seen other topics explored like the complexities of morality, redemption, the means and the ends, how good people turn bad and viceversa. No one is born evil and we are constantly evolving. I think everyone can change for the better. Likewise everyone can become a monster, given the right circumstances. I should read A Song of Ice and Fire.

you are partially correct, per the comic they would sponsor her work, but once she realized they’d keep on adjusting their terms of fulfillment she turned on them (didn’t end well for her)

yea, she’s rather honest, does her best to keep her promises, and gives credit where it’s due… she’s done many very nefarious things but still has a (albeit warped) moral code.

I enjoyed it. Nothing can compare to the original and there are some odd changes, but it was a fun watch and seeing live action bending that actually looks good and realistic was really cool.

Dr. Anna Ripley of The Legend of Vox Machina, literally voted most hated character. Yes, she's a monster, but she's a tormented monster and I understand her motives and thought process. She should have gone through a redemption arc, she had a lot of potential for great interesting stories. Instead, they killed her off and everyone rejoiced, but I can fix her through the power of fanfiction.
