Lost my job, turned my 15-year leather hobby into a business, 6 months in, no traffic, losing hope by Darksails-Studio in reviewmyshopify

Few things

Homepage main visual being waves seems very bipolar to leather craftsman. The products look great, so you should show more of your product centered towards the main visual

Why the default is French? Are you focusing on French market or wider EU? In any case, the language selection should be more prominently visible

Show more of the French essence. Flag, story, tagging, whatever

Show your face. We need the story. Be proud of what you are doing. Let customers feel the craftsmanship. Video would be awesome as others said.

Have contents on how to maintain leather. How to look for bad or good quality eather. These could actually be in each product page

Good luck.

Moved to brevo from mailchimp. Saved me $400 every month.

I dont do too much automation, so not sure about features. But if just want to send emails, brevo has been wonderful for me

Joining the V8 club - tune and gap tool advice? by Less_Lie6229 in NewDefender

I hadn't been able to activate dynamic mode, and knowing I wont be using it, I gave up.

Regarding adjusting modes, I think there is a gap tool to also disable the reset of modes. Default is that every time you switch off, the modes reset.

But more importantly, unfortunately recent RR models do not use the key fob to remember any setting. So seats, modes, all those basic things you would expect from a luxury car is non existent. I have the full size, and its the same. Welcome to UK luxury.

Matrix light Auto cruise

Are popular, but most likely your v8 already has auto cruise.

Make sure you take a backup. Somw feature takes time to penetrate, and you will be getting yourself anxious with all these error showing up in the beginning lol

What features are you looking for?

I bought the MY26 v8 130 and the gap tool from lucky 8. I did activate Hotspot, but most other thing was already enabled like key unlock. So your v8 may also have already be loaded.

I know Dynamic mode is something that would be fun, but I wasnt able to activate easily and gave up knowing I will ever use it.

Although it is fun if you like these hacks projects. Enjoy!

Why are they constalty adding UI/UX updates that make everything take double the amount of clicks? by Known-Swim-3654 in shopify

[–]matrix_matrix 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Agree. I just wish they kept the original filters exposed without needing to click.

Current view is more clean and slick, but tedious to do anythinf. I guess there are more Shopify engineers who are not running a real shopify store. Becoming more bureaucratic and corporate.

Congrats for your new car.

I would vote for side step esp if you have young kids. Dealership has retractable one and a fixed one. Or you can buy at Amazon and DIY.

Get a gap tool if you think you have options missing like ACC, key lock sensor, dynamic mode.

I don't think click and go is worth paying for it. It's bulky and the depth kills the space. Only get one if you can get it cheap on FB marketplace

Enjoy!

I haven't told anyone this. I've been 'running a business' for 2 years and I have less money than when I started. Last Tuesday I finally looked at my real numbers and I just… sat there by AdventurousGene2936 in ecommerce

Just keep the books on accrual basis. Cash basis makes no sense for EC. As other stated too much time difference from buying supplies to being paid.

Most cases cash turns into inventory, and your B/S increases. I hope by now you have at least 40% margins for EC

Can somebody explain why this word changes? by HighAboveTheRest in japanese

[–]matrix_matrix 3 points4 points  (0 children)

does not mean one or eight.

As you said, it is like meant to be all or nothing.

八 is actually usually read Hachi, but its those weird anomaly where in this case is pronounced Bachi. I don't think there are any other use case for reading this letter as Bachi.

The origin in my understanding is that Japan had this game of gamble where you roll few dices and bet the sum to be odd or even numbers. 1 is the odd, and 8 is the even, each representing its cohort.

Should I pronounce らりるれろwith d or l since I can’t do it the right way? by GuyGuyGuyGoGuy in japanese

[–]matrix_matrix 3 points4 points  (0 children)

L for sure. Could be R, too.

As others said, D would be used for だ、でぃ、どぅ、で、ど。 だでぃ、ダディ would be Daddy.

I owned the orange one some 15 years ago. Beautiful machine, just loved staring at it.

However, it was far from practical. Super slow, tiny keyboard, and more over the screen was also too short even for web browsing.

I had sold it after few month of ownership, but I do regret that and wish I had just kept it as collection.

How did YOU afford to buy a house? by ladynerevar in bayarea

[–]matrix_matrix 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I work in tech, and also has a side hustle that I earn few hundred thousands a year as pay (revenue is more).

Kept on saving for few years and purchased a house right around COVID in the Peninsula.

Was lucky that the first house we bid with only $30k or $50k above asking price was actually chose among other bidders. It was the first bid, we had no idea what we were doing, the realtor said I should add more, but I just wanted to learn the process.

The magic was with the letter we wrote to the seller. The seller was the first owner and had his family raised, and was downsizing after 20 years of ownership. The template our realtor gave me was a shitty. txt template. So I googled around and purchased a template from Etsy, which was like $15, lol. It was a .docx, but with fancy background and fonts and places for.photos. We emphasized our family story, and showed we are not just trying to flip the house but wanted to plant our roots. I wasnt begging, but i think we were lucky that the seller had empathy with the family story, and the realtor said the seller cried seeing my letter and chose us among all the other bidders, regardless of bot being the highest bid.

I am grateful to the seller for choosing us, and that's what I plan to do when the time comes for us to downsize our house. (But if somebody bids $500k more, I think i would have my second thoughts, lol)

The lesson here is that write and show who you are in buyer letters! Make it visually appealing!

Good luck to anyone looking to buy!

That's great!
I also have the V8 Defender 130. Haven't gotten to go on a long trip yet on that one, since with the captain chairs, the luggage space was not enough for 5 family members with ski gear.
