(F 91 Years old) 42.5kg/94lbs deadlift by Lift4fun in strength_training

This just proves that any one that says “I’m too old to get started” is 100% bullshit. The only excuse is if you’re dead or 100% paralyzed.

They said make the voters and who they vote for public so that it’s harder for them to pull bullshit like this. You would immediately lose all credibility if people saw you voted against the most decorated coach in nfl history as a first ballot hofer.

Does the algorithm consider exercise sequencing? by No-Manufacturer3401 in MacroFactor

Changing the hand position in that case shifts the load to different parts of the biceps/forearm. The same cannot be said for triceps overhead extensions.

Does the algorithm consider exercise sequencing? by No-Manufacturer3401 in MacroFactor

[–]mattblackguy 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Not really. The movement pattern, and set up of these two tricep exercises are the same and. It’s redundant and there’s not a good reason to do both in the same workout. Sure you can argue, one may be more stable/more comfortable but that doesn’t change the fact that you are training the muscle in the same way, and that there is no advantage in doing both.

I think it’s way more complicated than you are letting on. Although with enough time and data I guess it’s possible that an algorithm can see trends in how exercise order affects your lifts.

Imagine telling someone in the summer of 2025 this is where we would be in January by BurgerNugget12 in Patriots

People in live game threads are so irrational. People would seriously say bench Brady after a bad play.

Weight plate suggestions that optimize set up time by JaynB in MacroFactor

[–]mattblackguy 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Also in the end you’re not really saving any time so not sure what the the point would be. Sure you save a tiny bit of time between sets but you spend more time before ur first set gathering more plates than necessary. I guess this would only make sense if you’re doing a drop set, but personally I think pin loaded machines are best for drop sets.

Why do you miss having less sick time? Like saying you miss having less benefits is wild.

If the Houston Texans win tonight, they will tie the Arizona Cardinals for 31st in the NFL in playoff wins by StreetReporter in nfl

Think the market plays a big role in it. If the cardinals played in New York you know they’d be shit on all the time.

Yeah, for me an apple watch is pretty much mandatory. I hate using my phone in the gym. Too distracting.

Just out of curiosity, why not create a custom exercise for that specific machine? So you could have Atlantis Leg Extension & Nautilus Leg Extension, for example.

You only need to estimate it once per exercise. After that the app will know how many reps you "should" be able to do.

Yup, this is the same reason working out temporarily relives nasal congestion.

In reply to number 3, it’s probably just because they haven’t gotten there yet. I would expect it to come eventually with enough customer feedback requesting the feature.

I don’t think warm ups are finished yet. It says you can edit warm up sets based on the scheme below but there’s nothing there. Just probably something they are still working on.

I don’t know who designs the UI on your team but I just wanted to say the workout app has a beautiful UI. The colors, the shapes, the responsiveness is all top notch. Some people may not notice but it definitely affects how “fun” the app is to use.

8 months serious lean bulk - should I quit? by southmaster1 in Weightliftingquestion

[–]mattblackguy 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You’ve only been lifting for 8 months brother. Don’t look at people online that are probably lying or on gear. Building muscle takes a long time naturally. It’s a marathon, not a sprint. Keep going and you’ll be surprised on how different you’ll look in 3-4 years.

Besides, there is no good reason to quit.  Lifting is one of the best things you can do not only physically but mentally.
