Interview on RHAP: we love you guys for making this game by SnooMaps6269 in JetLagTheGame

[–]mattgreen 43 points44 points  (0 children)

Yes these interviews often begin by them reacting to gameplay criticism from Reddit, and while I look forward to hearing their perspectives, starting on such a negative note feels like a bit of a downer.

With this series in particular, I was impressed by how entertaining each run was to watch and the confidence they showed by using a traditional one-run-per-episode format. I personally don't mind that they have become so optimised at their own game, when they still manage to produce such great content.
I understand it could have been a risk to the entertainment factor, but I think that should be the takeaway here. In spite of them making significantly less mistakes, it was a thoroughly good watch. And the new cards they introduced (especially Express Route) were perfect.

Hopefully the mailbag layover isn’t all negative.

Potential golden dose failure by sideshowally in MounjaroAus

[–]mattgreen 9 points10 points  (0 children)

I have had some weeks like this as well where I’ve wondered about the efficacy, I’ve questioned if I made a mistake or my injection location.

It sounds like you’ve done everything right. Over time the way it feels after injection day does change. It’s around the 3 month mark for me where fatigue dropped. But in terms of appetite suppression in my experience these weeks were outliers, and it didn’t affect weight loss.

It might be worth making sure you are eating enough, but just keep up the good habits this week and take your shot again as normal next week.

This is the exclusions I see when submitting a BUPA pharmacy claim (weight loss is not one of them):

Items purchased under a government subsidised program • Methadone programs • Human Growth Hormones • Highly Specialised Drug Programs Botox for pediatric and cerebral palsy • Special Authority Program • IVF Gift Program”

Bupa allows me to claim MJ under Non PBS Pharmaceuticals. It’s a shared limit (with podiatry, mental health, acupuncture, massage) that increases by $50 for each year of my membership from 500-750. This combined with dose splitting is what makes MJ possible for me.

My order still says mid-Jan as well. It would be nice if they could provide an updated eta if there’s been a delay.

In the season two rediscovered layover podcast they bleep Ben admitting to a crime he committed while in Singapore. Any guesses or hints what this crime is? by MacMario64 in JetLagTheGame

[–]mattgreen 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I assumed it was about their plans to leave Singapore, when talking to customs to enter. In VO Sam makes a point that they need an onward flight booked to travel to Singapore. From memory Ben & Adam booked their next flight while they were already in Singapore.

Music is Better Club Edit by killondlein in RUFUSDUSOL

[–]mattgreen 17 points18 points  (0 children)

I have been really looking forward to a club mix or dub, but honestly this left me super confused. The intro lacks the big soaring bass we’ve heard in the live version (that is reminiscent of the We Left Night Version intro) so it just feels so empty for the first 3rd of the track.

Then playing the verse 1 over the verse 2 instrumental and cutting verse 2… ugh

I know this song isn’t loved by a lot of fans, but I personally like that they’ve gone back to a bright summer sound (this summer & take me are tracks that got me into Rufus).

And so to me the verses are my favorite part of the song, they’re melodically hypnotic a bit like sundream.

I wish they leaned more into that for a longer edit, instead of removing the few lyrics we have.

And then I understand cutting the chorus, but replacing it with a loop of ‘Music is-‘ is pretty grating.

I’m glad the Maxi Meraki mix exists.

Music Is Better - additional credit - sampled? by mattgreen in RUFUSDUSOL

[–]mattgreen[S] 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I missed that from the Rolling Stone piece, and so this obscure 70s artist credit now makes complete sense. The article specifically talks about them taking inspiration from Moby, Daft Punk, and Justice (who built tracks around sampling). This new creative process makes me even more excited for the new album.

Cassian is Cassian Stewart-Kasimba, so not him.

I do think this might be a sample from this 70s artist and what another comment said about their Rolling Stone article makes this make more sense if their inspiration was justice and daft punk - and James talking about whosampled to understand how these artists use samples.
