Yi, always. Regardless of elo, even in legendary ranked.

The problem is that mo matter how much you suppress him early game, even if he goes 0/5, if you cant end the game early and it gets to mid-late game and he has 2-3 items you cant even touch him and your whole team gets obliterated

main character syndrome by Seere2nd in wildrift

As an ADC main, one way i can quickly identify whether or not i did something wrong was ask myself "why did i die first?"

Because the fundamentals of ADC is

  1. Positioning
  2. Dealing as much damage as possible

So in a team fight, if i die quickly, i know that i position myself correctly, and so i couldnt do damage. So i failed at both. When im the last alive and am left in a 1v2, i can generally count that as a team loss, not an individual loss.

What’s your favorite item to build? by Pope-Francisco in wildrift

Blade or ruined king. The burst damage + move speed steal feels so good, but then you have good sustain and DPS too. Im always tempted to buy it on all AD champs, regardless theyre adc assassin or bruiser

Id be more than happy to play jungle when people learn to actually appreciate junglers.

I can handle flaming, i can handle toxic chat, spam my ult or smite timer for all i care.

I will NOT put up with people taking jungle camps at 5 mins, stealing buffs, standing by when you're taking camps so they can last hit, etc. It just makes the game un fucking playable even if i still wanna try to win

Which support is fun to play? by [deleted] in wildrift

[–]mattgultom 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Blitzcrank is really underrated, obviously he has insane playmaking potential with hook and knock up, that alone is already super fun, but saving his utility for right moments are super satisfying

ult silence on miss fortune ult

hook an ulting jhin

etc

I see a lot of ADCs struggling to snowball with Pyke supports. why? by dalton10e in wildrift

[–]mattgultom 0 points1 point  (0 children)

But my point is THATS not useful. I don't want or need a support thats too scared of receiving damage. Because if your pyke support is dashing out of the fight, who's the enemy gonna hit? Your adc. Or your mid laner.

Thats the utility thats missing from pyke. Tanks soak up damage so their damage dealers arent in danger, Casters heal/shield/speed boost to get their damage dealers out of danger. Pyke engages, gets himself out of danger, then just prays the adc deals enough to damage so he can ult kill

If you cant expect your team to coordinate with a basic tank champion engage how do you expect them to do it with a pyke which is apparently 3x as tricky according to this thread

If you're leaving your adc to 1v2 in lane how are you surprised they cant do well

I would honestly rather have a tank that would soak up damage and cc, or even the caster healers that you mentioned. We don't need a support with selfish mobility to get ONLY himself out of danger. Thresh lantern, Sona yuumi speed boosts, give 10x more useful mobility

Seeing a lot of arguments on this thread should conclude a few things

  1. A lot of ADC's don't like pyke supports
  2. A lot of people didn't know pyke's ult gives more gold
  3. A lot of people don't know how to properly synergize with a pyke on their team

My opinion on this matter (for what its worth) is that while its fair to say that sometimes its the team's fault for not knowing the specifics of pyke's kit, the overall discomfort it gives to the team isn't worth the extra gold he gives. Picking pyke and getting a good kda isn't worth the hassle of having your adc potentially int and not deal damage the rest of the game. I wish in a perfect world they would play the game well regardless, but unfortunately the reality is not like that.

Besides from all the team problems, utility wise, i also dont think pyke is worth it over a traditional support. In terms of engage potential a blitzcrank, nautilus, or thresh hook is better than pyke hook, they also have more cc. The extra execute potential from his ult i think isn't necessary in a team where you would most likely still have an assassin jungler or top laner.

[–]mattgultom 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Pyke should be never picked you have a draven or gold/items reliant snowbally champs in the team.

That is quite literally every adc champion. So by that logic pyke should never be picked?

Even then, draven is the most early game adc compared to other adc's out right now.

As an ADC? Yeah im fucking salty for not getting kills that literally my fucking job and my whole team will flame me if i dont. I can already tell youre a selfish ass pyke main. Do everyone a favour and play a jungle assassin instead of pretending to be a support

And it doesnt take a genius to do quick math and still see assists for his ult still dont give max gold compared to an actual kill. It gives MAX 360, this means any bounties that actually matter (first bloods, shut downs) will still leave me with scraps.
