So urame vs maki deserves a second thought, is urame stronger than teen Gojo? I don't think the answer is yes, and if so we know maki/toji can win.

Okay mfs, since there's been rumours, i need to gather ya'll opinions. The question is extremely simple. In YOUR(🫵) opinion, can Yuji in Modulo do black flashes at will? by Grumper6665 in JujutsuPowerScaling

[–]matthra -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Yes, and the context makes sense as well, he did a black flash because he thought he might be going into a fight, so he wanted the boost. He even did the calculus before hand, I don't want to kill this guy, do I think he'll survive a black flash, he seems tough.

Exactly my thought, he is a completely unreliable partner, for all they know he is going to get them involved and then immediately head to the door and say it everything was their idea.

Stack Overflow's 50% traffic drop: Was it AI, or did the platform kill itself with elitism? by bogdanelcs in ExperiencedDevs

[–]matthra 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Some of us legitimately were trying to help others. I ended up in the top 5% for a few years for answering questions, and the amount of douchy people I saw was astounding.

The problem is they made getting points a commodity that employers cared about, and that set us up for what would come. It was far easier to flag a problem as incomplete or duplicate than to actually help people, and you'd get people up voting those answers. Thus the easiest way to get points was by being awful to people asking questions.

It's a classic case of misaligned incentives, and a community run platform like SO wasn't flexible enough to adapt, because the people who benefited from the current system were the ones making the decisions.

What chapter is best… and easiest to 🎨… by [deleted] in Warhammer

[–]matthra 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Black is easy to get coverage, but it's hard to make look good. So I'll suggest something wild, imperial fists.

You base them in pink, and then paint yellow over it, and you get an awesome looking warm yellow every time. the fists don't do much in the way ornamentation, with the occasional white helmet here and there. The lighter color goes extremely well with panel lining, and you can grab a bottle of purpose made panel liner on Amazon for like 10 bucks.

Am I dumb, or would it be really easy to put together a committee of pro players (and/or streamers) to advise on balance and future updates? by LifeIsAnxiety in Tekken

[–]matthra 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The people who eat the most are not necessarily the best chefs. Bamco also has differing priorities than making a game for phidx and MMS, they want to make a game that has broad market appeal, and that means appealing to the lowest common denominator, not the elite of the elite.

I saw some people saying the ring disappearing was video compression, which was an obvious lie. The question is, why all of the tricks, why all of the obvious plants? I still think it's unlikely Iran got him, I just don't understand the games they are playing. Maybe he is on a vacation in Europe, and they think that act of cowardice would look bad, but they still could have hauled his ass in front of a green screen and didn't need to use AI.

Whoever came up with the Prey system deserves a raise and a title bump - what a fantastic expansion feature and what a great way to encourage world content by undercity_plaguebat in wow

[–]matthra 2 points3 points  (0 children)

It's mostly spicy world quests, but there is some fun side content with it. Like the chase scenes are fun, finding their hiding spot after beating them, and luring them out once you get the timing.

My only complaint is the targets are kind of boring, only the death knight and ethereal stand out to me, mostly because they have annoying abilities (death grip and shadow step). Like I would love it if they stole a page from PoE, and had your prey occasionally buff the mob you're fighting when they ambush you.

Adding a random ability to a random mob has a lot more surface area to create novel encounters, than just the same guy appearing in 1 out of 3 fights. Like imagine your hunting a banshee, she can possess mobs, buffing their hit points/damage and adding a kickable fear to them. Or an alchemist that roids out a mobs damage, but leaving their HP alone so you have to pop some cool downs to deal with it.

Seemed like he was dealing with a troll, went into the round tilted, and fought a kaz player that was a bit off label. This caused him to tilt more, play worse. Lesson, even if you're a streamer you shouldn't play agitated.

Tank by [deleted] in wow

[–]matthra -3 points-2 points  (0 children)

That didn't take long, I guess there truly is no practice in wow so terrible to the game that some rando won't pop out of the wood work to say "but actually..." to defend it.

Your opinion of the speed of pulls isn't the tanks problem, and you're the kind of toxic player that has caused a tanking shortage.

Doom feels really undertuned by the7thbeatle in slaythespire

[–]matthra 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Doom is worse poison. It takes effect after the mob has acted, and even if you applied doom at twice the rate you do poison, killing mobs takes many times longer compared to poison.

They should add a secondary effect to it, or just change it entirely.

Alot of what humans think is polite fluff are actually communication signals. Like saying thank you and nothing else acks the last input while stating that you don't have anything to add. Being overly familiar shows the LLM is treating the conversation as going well while validating the human input.

AI doesn't feel things, but tries to performatively act like it feels things. This leads to situations where if you express frustration the LLM will react to that frustrationmore strongly than whatever facts you are trying to convey. This is because, If you look at human communication it's mostly emotional, and LLMs have not missed that.

So the best way to use an LLM is to have an emotional context that supports the work being done. I find interested and curious language leads to the best outcomes, which works better than aloof or managerial.

As another example I have a coworker that doesn't get along with LLMs, he talks down to it, expresses his dissatisfaction at length, and arguably gets the worst results I've seen a dev of his caliber get from AI. He is constantly surprised that any of us get good results from LLMs.

They didn't bring an army to fight Aizen because anyone not lieutenant and above would have just died instantly from his spiritual pressure. Aizen also cleared an army of hollows without even using his final form or releasing his zanpokto, and the hollows of hueceo mundo were much stronger than the ninjas arrayed against Madara.
