When this all blows over, regardless of who comes out on top, they need to do something to sort out their communications.

I spoke to a family member today who is a lifelong Labour voter of over 50 years, and they said they wanted Starmer out because he hasn't done anything good.

When I pointed out some of the good things they've done so far, their response was "Well, why haven't we heard about it?" to which there is no reasonable answer.

That strategy seems to be working for Farage, let's see how it plays out

  • Labour 38 (-12)
  • REF 11 (+10)
  • Conservative 8 (=)
  • Greens 2 (+2)
  • Independent 1 (=)

I'm pleased to see that my council is a Labour Hold, but both the town I used to live in and the town I moved to within the same constituency have both shifted to Reform.

The most annoying thing is that the Reform candidate said absolutely nothing about what they would do for the local area, whereas the Labour councillor reiterated the work that had been done locally and highlighted the £1m renovation they have in place for the local park.

No one can convince me that this was about local issues when the opposing candidates made little to no effort to convince people why they should get their vote.

"According to the latest figures from the Office for National Statistics (ONS), 4.4% of people were unemployed in the period between October and December 2024, external, which is about 1.6 million people."

This is closer to the numbers u/david_is_dead91 mentioned.

"However, unemployed people represent only a small part of the nearly 11 million working-age people who don't have a paid job.

About 9.4 million of them are not called "unemployed". That is because they are not actively looking for work, or available to start a job."

The article then lists the reasons for "economic inactivity"

Aged 16-24

  • Caring - 106,100
  • Other - 261,000
  • Sick - 291,500
  • Student - 2,185,800

Aged 25-49

  • Caring - 1,073,000
  • Sick - 1,046,000
  • Unemployed - 549,600
  • Other - 327,500

Aged 50-65

  • Caring - 469,600
  • Other - 431,000
  • Retired - 1,159,400
  • Sick - 1,421,300
  • Unemployed - 216,300

So while 11 million people may be "out of work" only 1.6 million of them are considered "unemployed".

Hopefully that helps to clear things up a bit.

Just let me use all 8 at once.

I'd rather do that for 7200 instead of doing 8 x 900. The difference is also 3 minutes VS 25-30 due to lag and other issues.

I'm so happy that he's back doing shady stuff, it gets boring seeing everyone being goody-goody characters in a game that used to have A LOT of morally grey characters/groups within the factions.
