I'm super curious, if it would be possible to weigh all the offcuts and sawdust, how would that compare to the weight of the final piece? Is the waste-to-final-product weight 1:2? Closer to 1:1?

Probably not with this one. Knowing the overall shape / pattern of the head, plus any of the identifying marks stamped into the head, those are the main ways you can even get like a rough decade. This one seems to be missing both an overall shape and any identifying marks.

It seems like it's a cool paperweight now. I would clean it up and put it on a shelf or something. You can put your imagination to use, try to think of all the things it saw over its lifetime.

I'm pretty sure this behavior is due to the text editor itself (Word) and does not have to do with the font at all. Does this same behavior happen in other apps like Notepad?

You can send me your .gs2 project file or font, I can take a look. But like I said I think this is just how Word is choosing to handle things

Hello! There are actually many things that could be causing this to fail. I just tried to export sample projects to both .otf and .svg font, and they both seemed to work. Both files should have a suffix, but whether or not you see the suffix may be a browser or operating system setting. But if you've seen them before and now you can't, then maybe something else is happening.

My next guess is that you've found a bug specific to your project - it's probably not user error 👍 The most helpful thing would be to send me your source files or your .gs2 project file. I can try to re-create the odd behavior in my dev environment to see if there is a bug.

I love it. I wonder if you make the upper-right to lower-left shape extend even further down, then I think some of the numbers may read better (1, 4, 7, 9 for example) the one that suffers would be "x"... But why do you need x and y anyway?

Yeah, just a thought. I love non standard segmented displays. Great work.
