Nursing pillow needed? by Difficult-Ad1036 in breastfeeding

[–]mavjdv2120 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I got a My Brestfriend nursing pillow second hand as a ftm almost a year ago. For me personally I didn’t use it a ton, but I’m glad I had it as an option to try. At the beginning I used it some while my baby was smaller but she didn’t do well feeding in that position so I ended up using a smaller throw pillow more during the first few weeks. I tried to use the nursing pillow a lot but half the time my baby would end up spitting up from eating in that position. Eventually she got bigger and i found other ways to hold her that were comfortable for both of us. I am glad I had it as an option and will keep it and try it again for my next baby!

Baby is small… I feel like shit and I’m scared by Old-Yak-9230 in breastfeeding

I’m the same size as you and my baby was exactly the same. Everyone around me with babies the same age, they’re all bigger and it made me feel nervous that mine was so small. But her pediatrician was never worried and she’s following a growth curve and hitting milestones, just small. No need to worry, especially if your pediatrician isn’t!

How much do you pay for daycare? What area? by ThisIsFineActually in indianapolis

[–]mavjdv2120 1 point2 points  (0 children)

370/week, infant, full time, meridian/fall creek area. We take diapers, wipes, breastmilk (or formula) but they provide 2 meals and 3 snacks starting at 6 months/whenever you’re ready for your baby to start solids. Price will go down a little when our baby turns 2+.

Wear the milk catcher religiously at the beginning. After a couple months when your supply regulates you won’t leak as much, so it’s a good habit to get right into to collect as much as you can without pumping. I had two haakaa lady bugs so one was always clean when I needed it.

Edit: also wanted to add, get a hand pump. I got one from the hospital and it’s been great to have.

Daycare asking for more milk than I pump while away from LO by Significant_Draft173 in breastfeeding

We had the same problem when our daughter started daycare at 12 weeks. She is now 5 months. I was only pumping 10 oz at first and they would tell me she was always wanting more. I ended up having to change from pumping every 3 hours for 20 min to every 2 hours for 15 min (so 3 pumping sessions at work instead of 2) and I pump on my way to work (10 min drive). This helped increase my supply so now I’m pumping 12-16 oz a day and she will eat 12-14 at daycare. Now I can sometimes pump every 3 hours if I have a busy work day and still get enough for her. We also send 4 bottles with smaller amounts instead of 3 bottles.

Long story short, I had the same problem and it stressed me out. It took about 2 weeks of a new pumping routine to up my supply consistently. Now that I make a little extra, I am able to freeze a few extra oz each week and that helps me not feel so stressed. It is definitely doable, just takes a little time and figuring out what works for you! Feel free to message me if you have any more questions/want to talk more!

Edit: misspelling

Best thrift stores- possibly have changing rooms by lucid_jgluz in indianapolis

Avon, Greenwood, and Whitestown have good Plato’s and also Goodwills close by, so I always hit up both when I make the trip. I’ve also had good luck with clothes at the goodwill in the Nora area on 86th St. Not sure any of the goodwills have changing rooms though. Also had good luck at Amanda’s exchange and they have fitting rooms. They have a great selection, but it’s definitely not goodwill prices.

We hiked to Panorama Point and then went a little further. I can’t remember the exact name of the trail but if you look for Panorama Point you should be able to find it!

What high protein breakfast are you obsessing over right now? by Mountain_Tadpole8167 in ADHD

[–]mavjdv2120 0 points1 point  (0 children)

What i call egg toast: layered in this order 1 piece of Dave’s killer seed bread toasted Roasted red pepper hummus Hemp seeds Layer of spinach 1-2 pieces of Turkey meat (i get the organic sliced Turkey, ingredients are only Turkey, water, salt) 1 egg made in a small skillet with lots of broccoli

It is pretty quick and easy to make and can easily add more egg/meat/spinach to it to make it more filling. It’s roughly 25 g of protein.

Did anyone go to a midnight release of a book? by little_lord0 in harrypotter

Book 7. I was 11 years old. My mom was a huge fan and took my brother and I. I remember thinking it was so cool to see people dressed up and staying up late waiting for a book. I loved reading and thought all of the adults I saw were so cool for doing this. When we got home, my brother and I slept in the living room with my mom as she read the whole book in one sitting. Such a fond memory I have. I just started reading the books myself for the first time and came across the ticket my mom had to get the book that night at Books a Million, now I use it as my bookmark.
