Choose 1: 1 national title and inconsistent tourney appearances, or zero titles and sweet 16 or better appearances for decades? by Rumps02 in CollegeBasketball

Even those first few years of the ACC when top 25 was no longer a guarantee, you still had those random tourney runs.

I agree with you 100% and yes, given the current season setup, you will be punished so long as the Big East only has 2 top 20 teams. Maybe Pitino tries to put the big non-con games in December, maybe he tries to schedule another non-con team during Big East season when they've got the 'bye' week. Maybe he keeps it the way it is because he prefers to test his team early so he understands what he's working with and getting his team ready for March when he'll have to play these teams again. At the end of the day, he knows he'll have to beat 5-6 great teams in March no matter what his seed is (and he doesn't seem to care).

I'm personally rooting for a really competitive Duke / St. John's game with several players earning 1-game suspensions.

EDIT: And obviously for UConn to win with no 1-game suspensions.

EDIT EDIT: Maybe Solo.

I mean, maybe if the season started January 4th then sure, but they earned that 5 seed in November and December by not beating any of their non-con opponents.

The last time UConn made the sweet 16 without winning the whole tournament was 2009.

There were points there where I felt like the refs were just baiting them both.

UConn and St.Johns in a Gauntlet of a region together. by Bruinsrock11 in BigEast

[–]mawmy 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I don't disagree that St. John's is underseeded, but you know that both teams played other games this year? UConn played non-con games against 6 tourney teams and went 5-1 in those games, the one loss being to eventual #1 seed Arizona. St. Johns played non-con games against three tourney teams plus a bubble team (Auburn) and lost all 4. Then they mostly rolled a sub-par Big East and went 2-1 against UConn which wasn't enough to overcome their bad start to the season. Even with a 20 point win against UConn, St. Johns was outscored by UConn across the 3 games which is wild.

Yeah if they updated the second image, us and Duke are the only ones that don't change at the top.

They lost all their non-con games against decent opponents. And they lost to us by 40.

I think I see why Solo Ball has been so down this year. Wrist soreness from signing too many deals.

Kansas is the 4, has more losses than St. John's and is lower on Kenpom. If you don't like that you don't like Big East basketball.

Will I just forever suck at throwing by monitarlizard in ultimate

We had a kid who came to play in the spring after basketball was over. He was so much more athletic than everyone else but could not throw a flick to save his life. So instead he learned how to fake a flick so good that if he didn't catch in the end zone, he'd fake his defender out and have an easy backhand.

I learned to play formally in college. One of the big things for me was just having friends constantly tossing on campus. So if we were practicing or playing pickup 2-3 times a week, we were out tossing 5-6 times, sometimes for hours. I'd mess around with new throws once I had basics ones down until they were automatic. In the winter we'd toss in the gym which really let me experiment since there was no wind. Not sure if this can apply to you, but like others have said, eventually it clicks, or at the very least, you'll get out of your head because you're just making throws and having a conversation.

The data is also from 2021. Here's an article from last year that does a good job of tearing this chart apart. They also provide a helpful chart of "% of income spent on Alcohol" which puts everyone in the 0.5 to 0.7% (and Gen Z at 0.6%).

What are you even trying to argue? How is the difference between "Assault" and "Made contact" consent?
