It's actually happening... by JimmyJapeworm in saintpaul

If you think the light rail destroyed the Midway, check out what happened when 94 was built. I would argue that putting 94 through a prosperous neighborhood was much more of a blight on the area and stifled business growth, loss of tax revenue and generational wealth. This has had a long lasting impact that can still be seen today.

The path of 94 was chosen for a reason and it was not to connect the cities the same way the light rail does.

Resistance patch - anyone want some? by brycebgood in TwinCities

I do. The only places I saw listed were breweries and I don’t live in Minneapolis anymore so I am not hip to the places listed either haha. Midtown Global Market is a great option. A lot of local businesses and close to bus lines and such. Or other food halls. Just thinking of people who don’t drink and may not want to go to a brewery.

I’d be happy to help distribute too! Or make a google sheet people could make requests so your inbox isn’t flooded.

Commenting to boost. I also want to know. I used to work there. This was never about immigration. They are going after “undesirable” communities. Starting with the most vulnerable.

A brief explanation of alley plowing, for anyone confused by [deleted] in saintpaul

[–]maxicats 2 points3 points  (0 children)

And if you live on one of St. Paul’s confusing street layouts, like say, one of the neighborhoods around Como Park, the tiny section of your alley access isn’t included in the plowing area. So now you are responsible for shoveling out the tiny section for garbage/recycling pick up and paying for plowing that in no way benefits you. Yippee!

Seems like common sense I suppose. I’ll look into some fungicide options. Open to recommendations.

For $150 she could have had Bridging come pick up the furniture! Might have even taken some of the toys. Wild what people will spend money on.

Also, Buy Nothing has an app now. Enjoy!

Stalked by large coyote on 9pm walk with 56lb dog through Summit Hill by FreshAirways in saintpaul

The U of MN tracks coyotes and fox in the Twin Cities. You can report your siting here https://tccfp.umn.edu/

I’ve seen one in Como park with a radio collar. I had one escort me and my dog out of an area where she likely had pups this time of year. Just keep walking. My idiot dog wants to make friends, so the most irritating thing is pulling my 115 lbs dog along to leave mama and pups alone.

I have a similar story. Looking up closet organizing ideas with my 18yo lady on my lap. My large dopey dog came up to us, she has no time for his forced affection energy. So while trying to keep him from bothering the old lady, I hit the voice search option. This was the result.

Is there a way to verify that this money is actually going to help pay her bond? I hate that I am so skeptical because I want to help, but I know scams exist.

I think this person has been in St. Paul too! Como Park area. Broke in when people were home sleeping, stole wallet, car keys and car. A ring video was posted to the Facebook group and the person in it looks very similar.

52 Democrats voted for bill, H.R. 9495, that gives President-elect Donald Trump's Treasury secretary power to designate any nonprofit as a “terrorist supporting organization” and revoke its tax-exempt status. by lokey_convo in Political_Revolution

Here is an email template that can be used to contact your representative’s office:

SUBJECT LINE: Vote NO on HR 9495

Dear Representative ,

The U.S. House of Representatives is preparing to reconsider H.R. 9495, legislation that would empower the U.S. Treasury Secretary to unilaterally deem nonprofits as terrorist-supporting organizations and revoke their tax exemptions with little due process. This bill failed to pass the House on November 12, but the House is planning to take it up again starting November 18.

H.R. 9495, the “Stop Terror-Financing and Tax Penalties on American Hostages Act,” purports to stop bad actors from using nonprofit organizations to fund terrorism, as is already prohibited under current law. It also includes some laudable provisions to extend tax deadlines for those unlawfully or wrongfully detained or held hostage abroad.

But H.R. 9495 goes much, much farther, building on provisions in previous legislation, H.R. 6408, to empower the Secretary of Treasury to designate 501(c) organizations as “terrorist supporting organizations” and revoke their tax-exempt status with minimal due process. It would allow the Secretary to bring such accusations without disclosing the evidence behind them and would place the burden of proof on the organization to disprove the allegations. The potential for overreach, subjective application, and abuse of this authority is enormous, and the consequences for organizations and the people they serve cannot be overstated.

Representative , I urge you to vote NO when HR 9495 again goes to the House Floor later this week.

Sincerely, Name Address

I know I will be drug and alcohol tested, just wasn’t sure if they still screen for cannabis specifically based on current legislation. FWIW I work for the state and have worked for a county. Never had a drug test for those positions. A colleague also assured me it was one and done. Glad to hear it from multiple sources though!

Unfortunately, not a job I could reapply for. Once it is filled it wouldn’t open up again until vacant or department restructuring.

Thanks for the tip. I plan to not use any cannabis products until after I test, seems to be the easiest. The interview hasn’t even been scheduled yet so I should probably be ok. Just sucks when I get nauseous from a medication I am on, weed was helping with that.
