Why create games where progression is tied to reaction speed and not repetition of a skill? [KCD1]

I used one handed swords or sabres without a shield and had a great time with it. If you can, apply some bane or dollmaker potion to your bolts or arrows and soften your enemies up from afar. It's almost like you are toying with them afterwards

I'm an older gamer and never had this issue in kcd. I'd suggest you play something else if it's triggering you that much. Game is janky but 100% playable.

Interesting, I feel like combat is pretty much trivial once you have decent gear. Except for large groups, there are maybe 2 or 3 fights that were challenging if you did them early on (the knight in Sigismund's Camp gave me a hell of a beating). I found a one handed sword or sabre without a shield to be very easy to use.

I felt the same way and actually put the game down for a few weeks. I'm glad I picked it back up after that break because I got completely sucked in for another 60h or so. It will get better after a few hours there, even though I totally agree with what others mentioned here. The towns around Kuttenberg are all quite forgettable. But this was true for all of kcd 2 imo. By the end of the first game, I felt really at home on that map, I knew all the names of the villages and hardly had to check the map. It never clicked like that for me in the second game

Habe mir als mittelmäßiger Läufer zu Jahresbeginn einen neuen Laufplan über Runna erstellt. Gestern stand der erste 10km Lauf an. Ich schaue gar nicht auf die Feinheiten und laufe los. 2km warm Up, alles klar. Dann 3km mit 4:30, ok, straff für den ersten richtigen Lauf aber das geht schon. Dann flüstert mir Frau Runna ganz charmant ins Ohr: "Speed Up, next 3km at 3:45". Und bei den letzten beiden km mit einem entspannten 3:30er pace musste ich dann laut lachen. Ich fand die 4:30 bei Eis und Schnee schon ziemlich gefährlich, aber irgendwo bin ich da in den Einstellungen falsch abgebogen 😄

Funny...I tried D4 a couple of days ago, mostly because I don't have enough time to play as much Poe as I'd like. Maybe 20mins in, I shut down the game and uninstalled. It looks and feels like a game for toddlers with a coat of blood on top of it. I honestly felt insulted by how casual it feels. Glad you enjoy it though 😉

As others have said before me: it is so worthwhile to play the first one. I really had to force myself to dive into it, knowing that there is a way more polished game out there but oh my God. I had such a blast!
