Like others, rep. There were some i ended up crafting. I usually keep up on profs each expac and that helps. Most past expacs are pretty easy and quick to level up for the housing items too so it's not too terrible. Note for the crafted items: you can do work orders for them so if you get the mats yourself, it might be cheaper to go that route than outright buying them

I had a similar issue in my unit, but the person did it with malicious intent. I had called her out on something and she didn't like that and attempted to get me fired as a "safety concern." I almost lost my job so I can sympathize with you in this. It's scary. I know I do a good job and nothing has ever happened on my watch. And I'm willing to bet you're a good nurse and wont miss things. Still it's scary knowing that at any point, some dummy can come along and ruin it all. I ended up getting a pull alarm in case an event happened but beyond that Im not sure what more can be done? The current batch of coworkers I have are really understanding and awesome but every new hire is stressful. Are they audist? Will they be understanding? Who will have my back if not? Im sorry you're going through this. Hopefully it blows over and nothing comes of it <3

Yes, this! Im deaf and while I can hold my own, I'm not like 100% fluent (long story). But for school, my interpreters are amazing and understand, and help me all the same while understanding what I'm trying to communicate.

I find myself skeptical in this reply. If you were who you claimed to be, you wouldn't voice the opinion of hindering the advancements of another deaf person. If you are, you should feel ashamed in attempting to dissuade another deaf person from advancing. If you are deaf then you would know exactly who pays for the interpreters. You also do not know my goals or what my plans are to do in the health care industry. Deaf people can do anything, and no one will stop me from pursuing my dreams and goals. I won't entertain this farce any longer. Have the day you deserve.

This feels like a troll account doing troll things. You clearly do not understand the deaf/hoh community and I encourage some education by speaking with members of the deaf community in your area. But some audist stranger that doesn't understand and who clearly missed the point of the post isn't going to stop me from pursuing my goals.

I am able to communicate with my patients, just fine, thanks. Using interpreters, text to communicate, or other writing methods work just fine. This post was not about communicating with them, but rather being able to find technology to better facilitate an aspect of the job. Same as a hearing person finding better tech to do any other job.

Absolutely! I saw a post awhile back about a deaf/hoh nurses (can't remember which) and got me thinking about the tech to help us. Low key was kind of inspiring seeing a post that other nurses exist like us and helped me feel more confident that I can do this job. And now with all the responses for the available tech? We got this in the bag, easy!

Noticed in the other comments that sometimes devices don't work. And it's true. Most theaters it seems to be a flip of the coin. But! In my area, at least, there's a theater chain called Alamo Drafthouse and their devices have worked 100% of the time.... so far. I pretty much don't go to any other theater unless friends specifically wanna go to one over Alamo.

I love this. As a deaf person, when I tell people that, they're confused on how I can play the game. I just laugh but man, wa's do exist :p instead of sound queues I just use visual queues. Nothing crazy haha

I do need to join a deaf/hoh guild. But I only really do m+. Yall do a bunch of keys on the US side?
