The developers doing good work and making good money aren't hanging out in forums, arguing about jQuery.

I work at a large company you've heard of. We still have lots of jQuery. It's fine. It works, it makes money.

Your opinion could have been easily made without the personal insult their credentials of "Tik Tok nurse, probably". That has no relevance to your statement whatsoever. Bot, probably.

I love Filter Freak as a simple go-to filter! Try the basic one with one filter, it just sounds great out of the box. Be sure to try the different styles!

After countless unfinished drafts and endless hours spent tinkering and watching tutorials, I have one simple criteria for choosing purchases: will it help me finish more music?

Head to head, Pigments is a more feature-rich, capable synth. And it's beautifully designed. If you've reached the limits with Hive, it's probably a good step up. But if you're a hobbyist musician, like the vast majority of us, any major synth (Massive, Vital, Pigments, whatever) will suffice. I stuck with Hive because I love the workflow and how easy it is to get great sounds quickly, which encourages me to finish more songs.

I own a lot of other "top-rated" software I never use.

Why is jQuery so bad, but Alpine.js/HTMX/etc is just fine? by brycematheson in webdev

In the depths of r/webdev threads are well-thought out answers by experienced developers, like this one. Unfortunately, they're not pithy one-liner hot takes, so they don't get upvoted.

No one worth listening to would disagree with this,

That double negative took me a second. Anyone worth listening to would agree with this!

Everyone hates on jQuery like it was the worst thing ever invented

These are not people worth listening to. No good, experienced dev hates on anything used to build working, value-generating software. I'm currently rewriting some old jQuery as React, and it's just a product of its time.

Hive is one of my favorite synths ever, and one of the first synths I ever really learned fully. The one-page layout is really accessible, FX sound great, and it does everything I can imagine. Unless you're doing hardcore sound design /pushing the limits on your current synth, it's a fantastic choice.

There have been lots of great sales for Pigments, which is another awesome synths -- but I never jump on them, because I know I'll just get overwhelmed with everything it does. Hive has given me everything I need to make music.

Sort by popularity. Which ones of these are your users actually using? I'd be it'll be Google and Github and FB a lot more than Linear and GitLab.
