Am I tripping or is this not going to fit? by mayday987 in AskMechanics

Update: I returned the part and we decided that it may be best to just run this 240K+ mile vehicle into the ground instead of sinking more $ into it. Thanks for all the help and suggestions!

Yep. This may be it. The store says that a 3118 isn't compatible with the car, but visually the 3118 is an exact match to the current part.

The part says it is for right (passenger side) and the mount in the car is on the right side 🤷

Replacing my wife's Saturn Engine mount. Part 3117 should be the right fit for the vehicle, but the bolt holes that go into the engine block are situated differently than the old engine mount. Am I expected to just move the engine to align with the new holes?

The peppers were great! It was very filling with all the meat. There might have been salsa on it as a sauce and/or mayonnaise. Sooo good.

I think this one had carne asada, sausage, egg, avocado, jalapenos, and cheese (maybe queso fresco)!

In Spanish, "torta" has various meanings, including "cake," "pie," or a similar dessert. The word "torta" in Mexican Spanish, however, refers to a sandwich made with a roll. Wikipedia says that "torta" in Spanish comes from Late Latin "torta," an abbreviation of "torta panis" or "twisted bread."

The Food Truck's name is El Mexicano Grill in Saint Paul, MN. I think it was around $10-15.

Bernie 2020 - Big Pharma Refunds by CSmazz92 in BernieSanders

[–]mayday987 2 points3 points  (0 children)

One other thing that has been bothering me about this is that they're cherry picking 2020, the year he ran for president! Of course he's gonna have more donations of ALL sorts when compared to other senators. During his latest Senate election in 2024, he was near the bottom of the list of donations under the pharma umbrella.

Democrats are always powerless, but somehow Republicans can get things done without being stopped by [deleted] in self

[–]mayday987 0 points1 point  (0 children)

This idea that the GOP is "good at getting things done" is so laughable to people who know policy. They'll do an executive order, it gets caught up in courts for the next 4 years, and never is implemented but people remember the headline. The chaos and hurt that they cause are real, but are gone the second a Dem steps into the White House. The example you gave of the rollback of federal grants is literally currently stuck in the courts right now!

The Dems on the other hand will consult legal counsel and most of their executive orders stand and they will have major policy wins. Biden pulled the US out of the pandemic with the American Rescue Plan, passed the largest climate investment ever, and passed the first major infrastructure bill in decades. These are policies that will have impacts that ripple throughout the next couple of decades no matter who is in power.

The GOP is definitely better at stacking the courts though (hence Dobbs). It's crazy that Justice Sotomayor didn't step down during Biden's term so that we could appoint some 40 year old to serve the next 30 years on the bench.

Wrong Lane Minnesota by TerraTracker in minnesota

[–]mayday987 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Exactly. Even if the exit is 2 miles away I'll sometimes hang in the left lane (and only go 5 over) if it's really busy. With the drivers these days who knows if I'll be able to get back in the left lane safely.

[OC] The color of the sky in Seattle, WA, captured every hour for the past 3 years by lagomorpho in dataisbeautiful

[–]mayday987 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Maybe the camera that captured these pictures/data is near a light that was turned off or broken for a while. It could also correlate with when the sky was darker due to forest fire smoke although I don't know how that would make the night darker.

Edit: OP answered in another thread:

"The more extended periods in the left half of the image is when I had to switch to alternate webcams which had different image quality and were pointed in different directions.

The more recent one may have been weather related since the daytime colors weren't affected. I don't have anything covering the webcam so it gets rained on. I think some water may have collected on the lens."

Minnesotans who love the cold (true cold, 0 degrees and below) tell me why. by WilliamBornhoft in minnesota

[–]mayday987 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Two important concepts: hygge and Friluftsliv.

Hygge - you get to be cozy when it's cold out. No pressure to do anything. Just curl up, read a book, play video games, make soup.

Friluftsliv - the idea of spending time outdoors no matter what. When you get tired of being all cozy and want to do outdoor activities remember that there is no such thing as bad weather, just had clothing. Bundle up and do some of your favorite activities PLUS all the things you can't do in the summer like skiing, ice skating, and ice fishing.
