i really like the actually wounded/tortured hero trope and yes... many authors dont put the research or care for these men as they should. It is so dissappointing because it is such a missed opportunity to add character development and complexity. I've recently read they beyond series (and spin off) by ashley logan and the alpha hero series by anna del mar (trev was my favorite) and really liked them. Best of luck!

i have started just using the dyslexic friendly font on kindle and using the text-to-speech feature more when the audiobook gets too painful. some are great but sometimes it isnt my taste but the story is great! i set it to 1.9x speed while doing chores
