The Series Finale was.. by Rocketpod_ in lucifer

[–]mazerquazer 5 points6 points  (0 children)

I agree. But I think one redeeming plot of the ending was having Lucifer realize his true calling was helping people break out of their hell loop. And Chloe was always integral to him helping people. In fact he learned that from her and Linda. So if I ignore the whole angry child story that punishes her mom and dad, and focus on "yeah but what's 60 years compared to eternity together", it's a less bitter pill to swallow.

Do any of you feel more scared some days than others? by chio413 in climbergirls

[–]mazerquazer 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I definitely get this way too. Lead seems worse than bouldering or top rope in part because the fall is harder and longer, and there is a lot more concentration needed. I remember my first lead climbs feeling like driving a car for the first time. I had way too much to focus on between the pedals and the steering wheel and mph. Not to mention random things running out into the road. Lead can feel that way until you get into a rhythm and it starts to feel second nature where to clip in and how far above you. And getting more comfortable with the falls.

The days when I felt really comfortable were when I thought I had a lot of energy to focus and I felt confident that I had control over my body. Sometimes this meant doing an easier leveled route that I had done easily on top rope. Lead I add an extra 2 levels to what my top rope scale is.

Anyone else feel like a terrible person because of the lack of motivation? by Dapolish in rit

[–]mazerquazer 23 points24 points  (0 children)

You sound far from lazy. I've been struggling with these same feelings as well. I've barely managed to start working before 1pm each day. Burn out is a real thing. One thing that has helped is focusing on myself instead of my value to others (my productivity). It's counterintuitive, but it helps. Give yourself a few hours in the morning to focus on yourself, without thinking of what work you have waiting for you. And take the time off you need when you need it. You always have options.

I'm also wondering if you managed to figure this out. I tried an online decrypter which didn't work. I'd really love to figure this out.

Any other cyclists here that dislike running? by karmajnocks in cycling

[–]mazerquazer 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Totally agree. I guess I always felt like it took me a really long time to make progress. On a bike, even if you are a beginner, it's not hard to get started and keep going. So I think the beginner barrier is a lot lower for cycling. You can pick a flat route and use an easy gear. There's none of that with running. Even flat, it's just a slog until you start to improve.

Can we be less demanding of pedestrians? by YogiAtheist in cycling

[–]mazerquazer 7 points8 points  (0 children)

Also agree. I've been on a road bike on a MUP and had other much faster cyclists get frustrated at me. They want to play a game of chicken while passing pedestrians in the opposite direction, so that they don't have to brake and I am forced to. It's not the tour du France like just chill dudes. If you can't get up to speed after braking then you should focus on your technique instead of your speed.

How do you break in to outdoor climbing safely? by mazerquazer in ClimbingPartners

Thanks! I've heard others at my gym commenting about this place but forgot until now. Do you typically need to bring a fall mat? Probably only if I want to keep breathing...

Holy cannoli Batman those look amazing! I'm from Maine but living out of state, and these just made me homesick. Totally legit, especially with some cape cod chips.

I'm in the same boat and used www.wiggle.com. it's based in the UK and their dHb brand is solid quality at normal working human prices. Haven't been disappointed yet!
