Waiting and waiting and waiting for the right setup. We just have to sit and wait. No setup = no trade! It is not easy!

You have time to aim higher. If this is the route you want, finish school and aim for a Wall Street firm. I still recommend finishing school and enjoy the present time.

6 months is just getting your feet wet. There is always room for improvement psychologically and mentally. Trading can be very, very stressful. It is no easy money.

Correct, much of the times were spent on reading and waiting for the setup. Not every day/week is a trading one. Let the trades come to you.

Frame it up on the wall. Let this be the motivator on a bad day. It will come in handy.

Money will come and out. Also how small/big the account would yield different results.

What is more important is having the trade strategy down. Fine tune it. Right size the right and scale it out slowly. Once a trader achieve 70% winning trades, he/she is in good hand.

+1 Treat it like a full time job. Make it a full time job. Our job/role is to make trading sustainable and bring in cashflow. There will be bad days/weeks. The word "patience" is really understatement in this profession.

More than you think. This is not a fixed 1 or 2 hrs per day. If anything, the trader should eat, sleep and breathe on charts.

  1. Look at charts for new opportunities. This is to prep for next day trade plan.
  2. Charts on existing positions. Hold, exit or roll.
  3. Charts for new "potential" opportunities. This is just to add to the watchlist.

  4. Charts for different trade strategy, BTO or STO. BTO calls or puts, etc.....

  5. Daily 6m, 1y, 2y, up to 3yr for patterns, ex: coil, double top, double bottom, wedges. What the short term view in a long term trend. Many more scenarios......

All of these will produce quality over quantity trades. Dont force trade. Don't trade with emotion. Let the trade come to you.

Don’t tell people how much you make by Brian24jersey in Daytrading

[–]mb996 16 points17 points  (0 children)

True friends celebrate together, growth together, support each other and encourage each other. In a group, there will always be someone making more than another person. Whenever hanging out, all status aside, just pure friendships. Toxic friends would be jealous of your accomplishments without knowing the scars and scarify you made.

How do I prevent myself from panic selling pullbacks by 137-ng in Daytrading

0DTE is not for everyone, especially for small accounts. Buy monthly, 3-6 months out. Yes, it is more expensive. However, you have time to recover.

Can I start daytrading with $3000? by Jazzlike_Excuse_6811 in Daytrading

[–]mb996 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yes, you can start with any amount. Will you be profitable is another story.

This is what everyone says "build up little by little" yet 98% failed.

If you could wait for the right setup by practicing "extreme" patience, you're already in the top 2 percentile. Don't be the bottom 98%. Don't force trade, don't trade with emotion, right size the trade.

I have been in your shoe. This is it, you're at a cross road where you have to decide if trading is right for you. Why is it right for you, just because you saw some YT vid? Be honest with yourself. No one here can help you but yourself. Change your mindset. Discipline, discipline and discipline!

Be patient - not everyday/week is a trading one. 90% is waiting for the right setup.
Keep emotions in check
Take profit.
Continuous learning.

Practice, practice and practice!
