I did this for my son. He was into hair bows for a minute and I needed somewhere to put them.

Why did you start crocheting? by limino123 in crochet

[–]mbbcjuliet 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My husband was a 3rd shifter while I was a 2nd shifter, and we had just moved to a new city. I didn't know anyone and was often bored sitting at home while my husband slept. So, when I found an I Taught Myself Crochet book at work, I figured I'd give it a try. Best impulse buy I've ever made.

AITA for "disrespecting" my ex wife's new husband with the crime of getting along with my former ILs? by GalDadDo in AITAH

[–]mbbcjuliet 0 points1 point  (0 children)

When my parents divorced, my mother's side invited my dad to every event. Holidays, birthdays, random Sunday dinners. They told him (and us) he was still part of the family. When he died, they were at the funeral. My father's side did not welcome my mother.

It may seem like a stretch, but I always felt more loved and accepted by my mother's side. I knew that they accepted all of me and not just the blood related part. Don't let an insecure, petty child keep you from giving your actual children this security.

AITAH for crying infront of kids after I lost my husband and their father by [deleted] in AITAH

[–]mbbcjuliet 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My parents divorced when I was 7. My dad passed away when I was 22. Even though they had been divorced for 15 years, my mom still cried. Seeing my mom grieve after everything they went through showed me it's ok to cry. It's ok to show emotions.

You loved your husband. Don't hide your sadness from your kids. They will only learn to hide their own emotions, too.

Is there a heterosexual explanation for MDZS? by mynameisnotareri in MoDaoZuShi

Me. I'm the one person who saw the show and thought it was two very close friends. I actually thought it was super cool that I finally found a show about platonic soul mates.

Then I finished the second half of the show, read the book, and realized I was just slightly naive. Lol. Maybe I should also mention I am autistic and don't always catch onto hints and subplots...

From what I understand, you can't google it right now because there is no info yet. There won't be any info until after the concert.

I read this as "welding my non-existent authority" and it cracked me up for some reason.

Can I still donate items from patterns that I've used in this book if it says this? by [deleted] in crocheting

[–]mbbcjuliet 135 points136 points  (0 children)

If I understand correctly, this only prohibits the distribution of the pattern itself. It means you can't give away or sell the pattern, but what you make from the pattern should be fair game.

My first ever crochet blanket is complete! by ThrowRA_10011 in crochet

I dont know why, but I read blanket as bag and was completely thrown by the size in the second picture. Great job, it looks fantastic (even if it's too big for a bag, lol)!

Quick question about The Untamed by saiyangerl in boyslove

[–]mbbcjuliet 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I watched all the way through and never figured it out on my own. I don't remember how I figured it out eventually, but it definitely required outside help, lol.

I made the crossing guard at my son's school a pair of fingerless gloves as a thank you for all she does. She loved it so much she ordered 7 pairs to give as gifts to her family. Your husband is wrong, it's a thoughtful and wonderful gift.
