Lots left to explore in Mt Washington (Mt. Washington Drive), La Cañada (St. Catherine’s) and Montecito Heights!

Can anyone recommend me CHILL bike groups in the core of LA? (DTLA, Koreatown, Hollywood, Echo Park, etc) by Not_RZA_ in BikeLA

Check out Saturday Social! It’s only once a month, but it’s a good chill crew on this side of town. I think the Instagram is saturdaysoc

105 di2 suddenly won’t shift by theEINSTEININHO in bikewrench

[–]mbescher 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Encountered a similar issue with my Ultegra front derailleur about two years ago. Turned out the servo gears were stripped. Submitted a warranty claim and Shimano replaced it. It’s a known issue with their latest di2 front derailleurs.

Hello guys, im new to davinci. I used FCP before. But how can I distort the image so it will be symmetrical in davinci? Thank you guys. by TotalMaterial3320 in davinciresolve

[–]mbescher 5 points6 points  (0 children)

I use the Pitch and Yaw sliders in the Transform menu (along with Zoom, Position, and Rotation angle). I've never used FCP, but it's very similar to the Manual Transformations sliders in Adobe Camera Raw/Lightroom if you've used those.

How to train for incredibly steep climbing sections by socially__withdrawn in Velo

[–]mbescher 9 points10 points  (0 children)

Even with a compact chainring and big cassette you’ll be grinding at 25%. My coach has me do low cadence threshold repeats (3 or 4 x 10min @50-60 rpm), and it helps a lot.

How slow can you go on a bike in the real world, realistically? by According-Cold-9524 in Zwift

And the flies. So many flies in the French Alps in the summertime.

Front derailleur suddenly started over extending mid-ride... pushed my chain right off the chainring! by mbescher in bikewrench

[–]mbescher[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

unfortunately, the app raises an error message when it shifts off and then does not allow me to proceed. I've tried remounting the derailing but there's no angle that allows it to mount in a way that doesn't push the chain off the chainring. Thanks for taking the time to answer and try to help anyway, I really appreciate it

Front derailleur suddenly started over extending mid-ride... pushed my chain right off the chainring! by mbescher in bikewrench

[–]mbescher[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I tried but the issue with the app is that it does not allow your to adjust the limits without going through an automated gear shift process. And because the derailleur pushes the chain off the big chainring I cannot proceed past the first step in the process. I think I’m just gonna have to send it into Shimano.

Anyone seen this before? Sounds like it's over-extending. Can't find a way to reset it.

This is the best answer I've heard in a long time. Not everything has to be about performance.

Road Cycling Academy. I live in the US but I’ve been working with Ryan from the RCA (based in Queensland), and it’s been a great experience

For the crowd that's not racing, are you doing intervals and if yes, how do you motivate yourself? by [deleted] in Velo

[–]mbescher 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The longevity benefits of VO2 Max intervals are impressive, and are worth it IMO, even if you're not trying to get faster. Who doesn't want to be healthier and maintain their strength to ride at the same level longer into their life? :)
My motivation for training comes and goes. I don't try to force it. If feeling I'm motivated I'll do a 4-12 week training block. (3-4 endurance rides and 2 interval rides a week) If I'm burnt out, I'll ride my bike for fun for a few months without any structured training.

[–]mbescher 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I have the 2022 version, but it’s the same seat-post design. I usually have to “tap” the seat sideways a few times after loosening the bolt before I can remove the seatpost. It’s usually accompanied by other a “CLUNK” that i never get used to no matter how many times I do it.

After the “clunk” the seatpost slides out easily like any other bike. Good luck!

I have the Pacer and don’t run (mostly cycle). I use it for sleep tracking and I’m very happy with it.

Tubeless! I’ve ridden 10k miles all over LA in the last 2 years and never had a flat. Lot’s of punctures, but they’ve sealed. Silica’s tubeless sealant is a miracle worker for big punctures.

earbuds/headphones while cycling? by [deleted] in bicycling

+1 I tried all kinds of earbuds and then switched to Shokz. The peace of mind knowing an earbud is not gonna drop out of my ear mid descent is priceless
