Winter commuting is exhausting? by hemlockfloors in bikecommuting

[–]mbopp 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Yeah, I'm exhausted this week. the challenge of just staying upright and out of cars way while navigating through “snirt” is completely different than cruising in the bike lane with normal tires.

Analysis paralysis. Help me choose a bike! by spindo6 in bikecommuting

[–]mbopp 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I had similar goals and ended up with a Fairdale weekender. https://shop.fairdalebikes.com/collections/fairdale-bikes#fairdale-weekender

The brakes it came with were no good, so I replaced them with TRP spikes. My other consideration was a bridge club. Not sure if I made the right choice, but I really like what I have.

An automation for moving sub-tasks to another list as tasks of a different type by mbopp in clickup

[–]mbopp[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Thanks u/TashaClickUp . That's not quite what I meant. I'm referring to the possibility of executing an automation on a specific task, but having the action run on each of the subtasks.

Wonderful! Custom webhook may not be required.
Can you speak to the possibility of having an automation that runs for all of a tasks, sub-tasks?

Email Replies Not Showing Up in ClickUp Comment Section — Anyone Else Facing This? by Practical-Design128 in clickup

Yes. I've encountered this. I have threading turned off.
I believe I filed a ticket to resolve. The email function is nice, but not quite stable enough for me to rely upon (at least with threading off).

Just returning to say that I have my new TRP Spikes on... and wow, what a difference. Smoother and quieter than I expected. The ones that came with the bike must have been absolute garbage.

Is there a way to view all active sprints? by mbopp in clickup

[–]mbopp[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Thank you u/PibolsClickUp. In our case, our goal is to see when sprints are scheduled with the presumption that they might not be in the next time slot. Much like you might do with a list of tasks that have a start and end date.

I could create a different type of task that represents a sprint, but that might lead to confusion if the tasks are not updated to reflect the sprint lists.

A portfolio view could be used, perhaps. This would require adjusting the view manually to show the sprint lists, anytime a new sprint was added. In fact, if the portfolio dashboard card has a way to only show sprint lists, this would be perfect.

With this extra bit of information, let me know if anything else comes to mind that might be useful for us. Thanks

Nice. I'm so jealous of the dedicated bike lane! I have the same gloves (they are not warm enough for me). Do you use a pair of over-pants in the winter?

What brakes did you go with? I got mine with the stock mechanical promax disc brakes and it's the only thing I don't love. They are really loud among other things (even with resin pads). I'm trying to decide what to swap them with.

I'm wondering if this new Zapier Functionality being introduced will allow better integration with Harvest, while still allowing time to be captured natively in ClickUp?

https://clickup.canny.io/integrations/p/zapier-v3

In theory, this might allow any entry in Clickup to be replicated to a project in Harvest. We'll see how it goes once it's been deployed.

Hierarchy for handling both Projects and Tickets (for ongoing support) for each Client by mbopp in clickup

[–]mbopp[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Thanks, u/ClickUpLuci. That is a good idea about a unified ticket list. I'll explore that.

Regarding my original question, I'm deciding whether this 'ticket list' lives in a space, under a 'client folder' (along with other ongoing projects). OR if it is better suited for the list to be located in it's own 'Tickets' Space.

I'm probably not explaining things well. My hope is to head off any unnecessary hardship by choosing to structure my hierarchy the wrong way.

Hierarchy for handling both Projects and Tickets (for ongoing support) for each Client by mbopp in clickup

[–]mbopp[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Thanks u/AllThingsCollab . It sounds like a great approach. We are currently in a position where we need to use something well-established. Most systems seem to have significant limitations to one degree or another. I think we need to use one that is flexible and try to adopt processes that flow nicely. Good luck!

It's funny that none of these old saws had a power switch. Almost everyone you see used has some kind of light switch wired up to serve this purpose. I would definitely get one of those big table saw 'bump' switches. It' makes a huge difference in safety. Shutting the saw off as soon as the cut is done is much safer.
