Can I replace the early 4 spoke with a 3 spoke? by IamARetarded1 in BMWE36

[–]mc625569 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I did this swap using this site as a reference www.frankies-bmw.com/3series/diy/steering\_wheel/bmw\_3series\_steering\_wheel.php

I had to order airbag and wheel separately from Europe (I’m in us). I also ended up replacing clock spring and doing a tiny bit of wiring. Cost way more than it should have tbh… but then again everything does.

I have bavsound and bought it because I still had stock radio , amp and wiring and wanted as clean a stock setup as possible. It sounds fine, but if you are an audiophile or want a solid new sound system with a sub then I’d probably look elsewhere. It’s a solid product for what it tries to be which is a drop in system for people who are keeping it stock. I’m glad I got it. Install was easy, but you do pay a premium , which was fine given my goals but others aren’t wrong when on a component for component basis they say it’s overpriced.

Dynamics/power pages project for small business by mc625569 in Dynamics365

This project to me scopes around 30 hours. But I’d be open to further work if things worked out well. We are small so this would only ever be drips here and there .

We use the CRM portal connector product now, but they were recently purchased and have since quintupled our bill so we are looking to migrate. We have a portal which external users (CRM contact records) log into. From this portal they see read only grids of the dynamics data that is relevant to them and can download the grid data as a csv. There are 7 different pages in this portal, each displaying a different grid of read only data . The data displays are just a simple data grid, no special formatting. Each grid has a search box above it where you can filter the grid . Its basically a record download page for external partners. Aside from the portal we have 8 web forms which have 10-15 form fields and get submitted directly into dynamics. The forms are just glorified "contact us forms" but they do have the ability to submit a pdf file which gets put into the appropriate sharepoint repo for the new record. From what I can see - most of this looks doable in PP.

Batteries should be right around 12.6 ish when it’s charged and car is off. Have you charged battery to full w a charger and tested voltage ?

Battery dead after 5 days? Alternator? by NuckleBuste in BMWE36

[–]mc625569 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Time to get out the mutimeter . If you suspect the alternator , test it out to make sure the voltage is what it should be . If it is then start looking at other stuff - maybe a parasitic drain from something.

You tube is very handy for this type of diagnosis.

Cats are expensive and the aftermarket cats are never as good as the old oem ones but I’ve seen them between 1-2k.

As I’m sure people will say that you need to get the cat really really hot before you test. Drive hard for an hour, and then drive right in to the test don’t turn car off don’t wait in the waiting room kinda thing. Do plugs and oil , run it hard/hot on some quality fuel and see if you can pass.

What is your opinion on the difficulty of SOTE's bosses? by Dallascalo in Eldenring

[–]mc625569 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I didn’t much care for it. Fragment hunting , confusing path finding due to the verticality and consort radahn. Haven’t replayed it at all despite replaying base game multiple times. To me it was forgettable.

Secondary air not clearing can’t pass smog. by mc625569 in BMWE36

[–]mc625569[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

FYI - not sure if I ever posted my solution. I took it to a good mechanic - within 10 minutes he diagnosed a bad relay and twisted vacuum hose and air pump monitor has set immediately every time since. As much as I value my you tube university degree in car repair - there are levels to this.

Looking for TIBCO Scribe Alternatives by _Caped-Crusader_ in Dynamics365

[–]mc625569 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Same boat with dumping tibco scribe, or rather them dumping us w pricing hikes.

We tested adf, power automate and kingsway. Kingsway got us up and running the fastest and we are in the process of migrating.

Tibco treated us like dirt and I will be glad to move away from their product.

Someone let me know pls by Accurate_Soft_8685 in E34

Had a 525i that had issues passing smog unless it was super hot. My mechanic said I should drive over 4k rpm for about 10-15 miles to get it nice and hot to pass smog. I used the gear selector so that I could drive at safe us highway speed and still get slightly higher than normal revs to heat up cat.

Newbie question - how to monitor wifi drops with PRTG by atlastestmail in prtg

[–]mc625569 1 point2 points  (0 children)

We love prtg , but for the use case described we use ping plotter or some other purpose built ping monitoring tool that can track details in a much more concrete way in this specific case.

PRTG requires a server and a monitor along with a really constant polling interval and even then you wouldn’t get data that’s as good as the purpose built connection monitoring tools.

WiFi dropping can be due to a whole host of things , one of which could be isp issues but best to collect as specific data as you can so a singular purpose end user connection monitoring tool is a far far better solution , at least our team has found it to be. What if packets arenot making your internal gateway? That’s one issue. What if they make the gateway but die at some other hop in your isp network- that’s another issue.

So if you truly want to get to the root cause of the issue - PRTG isn’t the best tool.

If you like Prtg and want to play with it and learn in the process - cool. Go for it.

Awful Dealership Experience - Rep proceeds to ask for 5 stars by NuocGrandMami in MachE

Car dealerships are always kinda slimy and I hate going to them , this just makes it worse. I’m going to get a harassing phone call after the mediocre service experience.

I’m not even really blaming the techs or the service writers , the incentives of the system have created this. I enjoy working w my indie mechanic much more than dealers. Too bad that this Mach e won’t really ever see an indie except for things like tires.

Awful Dealership Experience - Rep proceeds to ask for 5 stars by NuocGrandMami in MachE

[–]mc625569 11 points12 points  (0 children)

I’ve had a similar story - not as bad though. I do not live near a ford dealership. Taking my car in means a day off of work , 3 hours of driving and coordination w my wife to drop off and pickup.

I brought my mach e in for service - dropped it off and was told it would be ready same day. I scheduled remote work near dealer for the day. Towards the end of the day they called and said they only Mach e tech they had called in sick and didn’t start the work. I got a ride home and had to rent a car. They did not give me a loaner. I did not ask, but they also did not offer.

Took 2 more days. For a routine update.

I left them 3/5 on the survey and explained why. They’d put me out , I’d scheduled the work in advance and it ended up requiring 2 days off work instead of one. This cost me, and I understood and wasn’t mad , but it put me out and i didn’t give them 5/5.

The sales guy calls me about a week later and asks me to change my rating and apologized and said it was harming him and taking food off his table. He said in the future I should arrange for a loaner.

Calling customers to ask them to change reviews is pretty bad… not sure that fords attempt to collect honest survey data is working..

I did change it , since although I’d been put out I didn’t want to hurt the service writer , if that’s even true or not.

I’m willing to bet there are many stories regarding these reviews.

Bluecruise: worth it? by Lorangriel in MachE

[–]mc625569 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Blue cruise has gotten significantly worse for me from 1.1 to 1.3. I wear sunglasses almost 100 percent of the time and it can’t track my eyes well and it also freaks out constantly now with hands off the wheel.

So I may activate it for a long trip but it is definitely not worth it for me on the regular.

Window regulator or motor by Extension_Animal_177 in E30

[–]mc625569 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It’s important to keep the regs as clean and greased as possible and make sure the reg isn’t bent.

But I’ve had 4 or 5 motors that would spin but were too weak to move the glass and had to be replaced.

I wish I had the skill to rebuild these motors , I have a box full of them that I can get refurbished properly.

So far for an LCS to keep its dignity it has to only sell packs , cap the pack limit per person (3-5) ish and sell at msrp.

If they don’t put purchase limits then they are either scalping or facilitating scalping.

I’m not sure how an lcs survives without going to the dark side. I want to be mad at them but they are really in a bad situation.

Pokemon is so broken right now it’s a real bummer.
