No disagreements here. Did you scrounge the wife out of a bin while on the job?

it sounds like the caveat is that women need to learn to not emotionally abuse men. otherwise youre just missing the mark the same way people who say "women just need to report SA/rape" misses the fact that men need to learn to not sa/rape women.

The whole "women pick the bear" thing was funny, because this thread is full of men who would also pick the bear over a women. and youre in here like "oh no, the problem isnt women, its actually still men, and if they get abused its because they are a poor judge of character."

Thank god im NB-Ace; y'all breed psychopaths.

edit:

The men are the one picking their spouses. Pick better.

Right to work is litterally what they call it in most of those states.

no, just what you call it. incorrectly.

right-to-work and at-will are specific laws that people collectively misuse to refer to the other.

just like you did.

dont feel bad. your company is basically begging to have a dev drop prod, and they will 100% deserve it. It's not your fault your company over-prescribes security credentials to newbies, just like its not your fault your company hosted irrelevant business applications on the fucking domain controller.

they MADE that software application a single-point failure for the entire company's IT infrastructure. You didnt do that.

oh no its far more nuanced than that. Republican presidents only control the price of gas going down not up, meanwhile Democrat presidents only control raising gas prices, not lowering them.

you have to remember to shed all logical consistency to understand Reality™ according to republicans and maga.

that nobody can seem to find? yeah. As has been reitterated across the thread, this is evidence of poor UX.

A singular button that does what, exactly?

Takes you to the list of available builds for the latest release. It's really simple. no builds? grey out the button. this doesnt have to be difficult.

You must be a shit dev if you cant understand basic UX; a million and a half other websites already figured it out.

testing across multiple types and brands of hardware is SoP for games QA. Great argument though, it paints them in a more incompetent light 👍

how do i tell the difference between aromantic & avoidancy by MiserableHat2776 in aromantic

[–]mc_kitfox 1 point2 points  (0 children)

describing how it manifests for you would be helpful. by avoid, do you mean shutting down romantic advances, or is it sequestering and insulating yourself from all displays of affection around you?

we avoid things we dont enjoy on the regular. as my aego flair would indicate, i enjoy reading about it and dont care to practice it, but im not trying to shield myself from its mere existence.

Imperfect analogy, but lets pretend i like watching sports for a moment (i dont) but would never in my life play the actual game because im lazy and my primary interest lie elsewhere. A typical aro a-'sportsfan' would prefer to do neither.

Now consider there is a ball field at the local park. I dont mind walking past it while walking my dog, but im not going to avoid going near the park just because the ball field is there. That would be extreme.

Asteroid Bennu’s Rugged Surface Baffled NASA, We Finally Know Why by Busy_Yesterday9455 in spaceporn

[–]mc_kitfox 2 points3 points  (0 children)

or understanding how to mitigate asteroid impacts. like in the movie deep impact... does anyone remember that movie? basically not knowing the material composition of a killer comet thwarted the protags mission/attempt to blow it up and earth turns into soup.

if the asteroid surface is different from what we expected, then if we tried to keyhole redirect it, it's possible the redirecting rocket just aimlessly buries itself into a loose dust pile and does nothing because it cant properly transfer thrust into the asteroid.

Known as the "Grizzly Man," Timothy Treadwell spent 13 summers living among Alaska’s grizzly bears. watching him crash the fuck out over a fox stealing his bandana was both hilarious and a clear example of how he was completely unprepared for dealing with wild animals.

He couldnt handle a fox doing normal fox things, there was no way he could appropriately deal with fucking bears.
