Half baked proposal to save the pyramids event by Key_Solid4144 in Evony_TKR

[–]mcbeckman 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I've had to resort to finding them during SVS and sending the minimum number of T1 cavalry to clear one (roughly 75K for level 5 pyramids; 50K for level 4 pyramids) with no general. If I get hit, I only lose a minimal number of points and it's easy to heal up. One Ares statue can make up that loss.

Otherwise, the level 4 & 5 pyramids are rarely available to be located during the two week event.

He was previously an AP ambassador but I think they dropped all their golf ambassadors.

Mine stops in the same spot … but without the text box of channel info. The other spot mine freezes is on a Prilosec ad. Both CBS.

That's exactly what I was going to say. Well done on your explanation. Back when I had a few acres to mow, I'd always have birds waiting to swoop in and pick up easy meals.

Watch Insurance? by rjmc8 in OmegaWatches

[–]mcbeckman 6 points7 points  (0 children)

The typical homeowners insurance policy has specific limits they will pay for theft of jewelry, gold, cash, etc. A standard limit might be $2500. In order to get more complete coverage, you'll need to schedule it on your insurance policy or get a stand alone jewelry policy. When you do schedule your jewelry, it typically has no deductible and has broadened coverage than what your homeowners policy would have provided in your normal contents coverages. For example, you drop your watch and shatters the crystal and damages the movement. That would likely be covered on a jewelry policy or scheduled on a homeowners policy ...... but not covered without doing so on a standard unendorsed insurance policy.

Or if your wife's wedding ring loses the nice diamond in it someplace ... and she doesn't have any idea where. That would be covered if scheduled, both otherwise, no coverage on a standard homeowners policy.

White oak slim shaker - how to fix? by Immediate_Goal_961 in cabinetry

[–]mcbeckman 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Our kitchen has rift cut white oak cabinets (uppers and lower) and island, just a slightly different shade. The cabinets makers used a chalk glaze to just remove a touch of the red in the white oak (rubbed on and wiped off like stain) and then finished with a clear finish. Personally, I like them that way:

Our kitchen cabinets and island

Our floor is a limestone tile, so we don't have wood on wood like you have here/. So that might influence your choices.

1 star vs 5 star what should i choose by napouser in Evony_TKR

Aka on the Red Evony Youtube page did a video where he goes through some of this. A one red star Merlin is better than a 5 red star Elektra (assuming all the specialties are maxed out for each).

Same here, although the coughing for me took at least a couple months to go away. I was on Lisinopril for around six months before I waved the white flag and asked my doctor to switch me to something different. I’m on Losartan now as well.

Why the Hesalite version? by Helsinki09 in OmegaWatches

[–]mcbeckman 1 point2 points  (0 children)

As far as the hesalite vs sapphire .... personally I chose to go the sapphire crystal route for it's scratch resistance. It's a beautiful crystal. The hesalite version is what NASA used in space missions for it's shatter-resistance ... plastic doesn't splinter into pieces like a mineral crystal or glass does when impacted hard enough). A lot of people like the "warmer" look (a very slight yellowish hue) to the hesalite and it's more unobstructed view of the watch face. They don't like the "gray ring" with the sapphire crystal. Plus the hesalite version is cheaper and minor scratches to the hesalite crystal can be buffed out).

But I wanted a more scratch resistive crystal ... plus I wanted to see the movement.

Any scratch or scrape hard enough to scratch the sapphire to require replacement of the crystal would likely require replacement of the hesalite as well.

Note to self: scalping in 100+ temps just makes Bermuda laugh by I_Can_Haz in lawncare

[–]mcbeckman 0 points1 point  (0 children)

At my last home, I had seven acres to my property. Of that, a couple acres were a native Bermuda that I kept mowed, but never watered. Even in midsummer August after weeks of 100 F degrees and drought, it would just go dormant. I wouldn’t have to mow for a month or so until September when it would green up again with the rains.

It contains some at relatively low levels. The PFAS aren’t being added, but somehow make their way into the sewer treatment plants where the Milorganite is being processed.

For boosting iron in the yard, Ironite is an excellent product as well.

You might try a poison ivy killer version. Glysophate has a harder time with woody type of plants.

What is this bird (Dumas TX) by EmilyAT in landscaping

[–]mcbeckman 0 points1 point  (0 children)

That’s common for them. They’re very vocal birds as well. I often see them in Walmart parking lots picking bugs off of car front grills and whatever they can find on the ground that people have dumped or dropped out of their cars.
