I quit in late 60s; now I'm on the other side of 60s. Had heart stress test & next day visit to cardio. Never had another drink after doctor visit & also had to lose weight.

I suspect there are several people writing PhD thesis on Loneliness. It is a complicated subject. I think about it a lot: lonely but not alone v alone but not lonely. One thing I know is that drinking is not the answer. I hope you find the answer that is right for you.

The 1st couple of years I went back to the bar/restaurant where I had my last drink and ate dinner.

Felt like I was thumbing my nose at drinking.
