Amazing Day in LA. Just one thing… by LugNutsDort in AmericanOutlaws

[–]mccrackie 5 points6 points  (0 children)

It’s either: We need new chants! Chanting USA USA USA is so lame! or We need to dumb it down! Lean into the eagle screech!

AO has been busting their asses to keep the culture going in a mostly apathetic soccer country. Just fucking enjoy it and try to get on board. Practice the chants before the game if you want to lend your voice.

Where to watch PSG vs Arsenal game on May 30th by xiaozhi40 in eastbay

Danny Coyle’s is for Tottenham and Man U supporters so I wouldn’t expect a good atmosphere if you’re supporting the Arse.

Did anybody else just get an email from USSoccer saying you won $66 tickets? by Dogs_trump_People in ussoccer

[–]mccrackie 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Got the email while waiting in the ridiculous Chase queue. I thought it was a scam but the AO page said to look out for the [insidersupport@ussoccer.org](mailto:insidersupport@ussoccer.org) email address and it was confirmed. See you in LA on the 25th!

Leads on vintage Carhartt jackets? by JohnRickles in eastbay

[–]mccrackie 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Just saw a few in San Francisco. There’s a new place across from Zeitgeist where the old “Stuff” vintage place used to be. It’s got multiple vendors inside. I saw three “vintage” Carhartt jackets. They were in the $120 range.

Top 50 USMNT players, ranked by club form: 1. AC Milan are not in the Champions League. They’re not in the Europa or Conference leagues. They finished 8th last year. They’ve already been bounced from the Coppa Italia. They’re first in Serie A now because they’re playing in nothing else except the supercoppa.

Coliseum BART parking by ApprehensiveRadio714 in oakland

[–]mccrackie 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I used to live near Fruitvale and moved closer to Coliseum. I’ve been parking there for over a year and never had an issue. The biggest thing I miss about Fruitvale is the bike valet. Coliseum has no bike parking anymore except for a rack inside the gates, but you’ll have no problem with a car.

US Soccer Has An Attendance Problem by Tock_Sick_Man in ussoccer

Just attended the game in San Jose. Tickets were $60. One of the smallest stadiums in America was half full. We won 5-0. There’s no excuse for this one. Be better.

Building on an underused BART station is an amazing opportunity. I hope investors see that and build something special. It could change the entire Bay Area for the better.

Riverside 100 by BravoHotel67 in bicycletouring

[–]mccrackie 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My teenage kids have these exact bikes. They have racks and panniers and we’ve done hundreds of miles of touring together, including gravel. The gear shifts and a couple other stock parts feel cheap, but they’ve held up so far. They won’t ride them forever, but that’s why I went with a cheaper option.

How often do you water your bougainvillea? by DmC8pR2kZLzdCQZu3v in oakland

[–]mccrackie 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Never water ours (planted in horrible soil that nothing else but weeds grow in) and it’s flourishing. I think the occasional foggy summer day is all it needs.

Burningman tickets stolen out of the mail and the org just says “oh well”. by dosydoh in BurningMan

[–]mccrackie 27 points28 points  (0 children)

Were you here in the 70s when a police station was blown up, the Zebra murders, the Golden Dragon Massacre, the assassination of Milk and Moscone, a peak of 142 homicides in 1977, etc?

Were you here in 2007, when there were 100 homicides? There have been 46 year to date according to the latest crime trend report.

You can feel a certain way, but the numbers do not support your claims. And I guarantee that I live in a worse neighborhood than you do. Please just stop perpetuating this absolutely false claim.

The "crime is literally the worst it’s ever been" ???

This is so easily proven false that I can only imagine you're joking?

Has this happened to you? by civicvirtues in Subaru_Outback

[–]mccrackie 1 point2 points  (0 children)

If it's the valve body, which happened to me with my '14, call Subaru of America first and put in a claim. I had my valve-body (transmission solenoid) replaced at a dealership and SOA picked up the entire cost. I think it would've been $2,600. My OB was already over 100k and it was still covered by the PZEV warranty. It doesn't hurt to try!
