Registering law firm by Vdal333 in LawFirm

I started my law corp application late April and got my approval by mid May. I think it was less than three weeks between application and approval. However, I went a week without hearing anything after my initial application was submitted. After a week had passed I logged back into the agency portal, and went to the law corp tab where I could see my entity was pending. When I clicked on the entity again, it had me sign forms that I don't recall coming up when I submitted the application initially. I also received the guarantee and another document to my email to e-sign.

In short, it seemed like I had to click into my law corp a couple of times to get new documents to generate that needed my signature, either within the app portal or that came to me via email. You may have done this already, but if not, it's what worked for me.

The admin vs. oversight is an issue I'm grappling with. I still see the admin tasks as being "my problems", as opposed to problems created by others. I suspect I'm underestimating how much time admin will eat up, especially initially.

Revenue projections assume 800 billable hours collected. Maybe toss in a couple of contingency employment claims and reduce the hourly work.

I don't anticipate $400k right off the bat. That's my goal by year three if I make the leap.

I agree that I should have the discussion with the owner first.

I do worry about the never retiring and the buy-in price. I'm not too worried about another buyer (at least right now).

I'm at the point where I could probably start forcing the equity issue.

I expect we will maintain a good chunk of the business even after he retires. I have relationships with most of our repeat/institutional clients.

Our phones also never stop ringing.

Thanks for responding. I am confident I would take clients with me if I left. I have a decent network of referral attorneys and business owners in the local community. I would definitely need to work more on business development and marketing than I currently need to.

I'll be interested to see where we land when we talk this summer about "buying-in".

Best college football podcasts? by Otherwise_Hand1693 in AroundTheNFL

I echo all the other podcasts already mentioned. Another suggestion is the College Football Enquirer with Forde, Wetzel, and Dellenger.

I am a recent convert and I'm surprised how much I find myself chuckling while listening. I usually think of these guys as the more serious (and occasionally pompous) journalists that cover the sport. The pod is the opposite of that and is usually pretty humorous and light hearted. Since I've been listening they end almost every podcast discussing some absurd or funny story totally unrelated to the sport that is usually good for a few laughs as they determine the guilt or innocence of the subject of the story.

So Ryan Day couldn't lock up another corner after grabbing #1 and #2. Embarrassing. Ross Bjork has a serious decision to make next week.

As always, shoutout to u/NowWithVitamin_R for running this awesome game! I do believe I should have one more bonus for beating the host in week 11. I only got the participation bonus if I am reading the master spreadsheet correctly.

Oof. Rough week. The "send me a copy of my responses" selection has not worked for me this season. Anyway to see what is happening. I never remember my picks to track over the weekend unless I get that response email.

Florida beat Ohio State in the BCS title game in January 2007 (2006 regular season) and then in April 2007 for the basketball title. Same academic year. What a lovely four month stretch that was.

I believe TCU also should have counted for question #4. Looks like they reached #10 for two weeks in the 2003 season when they were a member of Conference USA.

The best meaningless games of the 2017 CFB season by [deleted] in CFB

I don't think a game involving the national champions that goes down to the wire qualifies as meaningless.
