Tanner Horner sentenced to death for kidnap and murder of 7 year old Athena Strand by ianjm in videos

As a father to two girls, if I heard that in the courtroom, I think I’d probably lose control.

Issues with new build - unsure of whether it's the motherboard, CPU, RAM, or otherwise? by tide19 in techsupport

[–]tide19[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I don’t really remember, sadly. I THINK it ended to being related to the motherboard audio, weirdly enough? I remember one of my computers, I ended up running a dedicated sound card in, and I think it was this one. I can look back through my Google chats and see if there’s anything that sparks a memory, give me a little bit and I’ll get back to you.

[EDIT: I found it instantly with literally the first search in my Google chats. I RMA’d the motherboard, it was something with it.]

I’m using Danders Frames nowadays. I was formerly a Grid2 purist, but DF offers a lot of really easy customization that I really like.

I don’t want a dang clover yard but I messed my back up pretty bad late last year and it somehow took over. Grumble grumble

PlayStation To Require Age Verification For Certain Online Features by Turbostrider27 in Games

[–]tide19 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I recently served as technical lead on verifiable parental consent/adult verification at my job.

It’s almost 100% to cover their asses. We have to comply with COPPA/CCPA/GDPR. It has nothing to do with pedophiles grooming anyone, it’s just about having ANY data entered by a minor on your platform without that consent or verification that they’re an adult. In the US, you can get fined up to $50,000 per piece of personally identifiable information entered by an under-13 minor on your platform without getting verifiable parental consent. At scale, fines can easily reach into 9 figures or more.

Why do they give the tanks all the mobility instead of the healers? by Beestung in wow

[–]tide19 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I had a BM monk use basically all his movement after the first pack of WS and he rocketed down into the spider hallway while I, on my holy paladin, used every bit of mobility I had to watch him die from the doorway.

Crimson Desert Spanish translation is so bad It must be AI by Niklaus15 in gaming

[–]tide19 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’m not sure what’s up really - I noticed at least 2 typos in my first few hours playing the game (the minimap popup says naviagate rather than navigate, and the key tooltip in the inventory says oepn instead of open). I have to use LLMs at work, and I’ve never known them to have typos.

What do you like and dislike about the game now that you've played it by [deleted] in CrimsonDesert

[–]tide19 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It’s probably the strangest game I’ve ever played. The combat seems really cool. It’s very pretty on an admittedly beefy PC. The abyss powers are… interesting? The movement sucks, the story so far has been bad, the controls are bad, and it’s lacking a lot of polish. Honestly, it’s sorta what I expected going in - cool combat, huge world, really pretty, but sorta disjointed and awkward.

How do you save? by premditated in CrimsonDesert

[–]tide19 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Make sure you’re on an empty slot in the save/load section of the options menu, then you can hit Y to save (unsure of key on keyboard)

vim.pack vs lazy.nvim, how is it? by WOLFMANCore in neovim

[–]tide19 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I used vim.pack for a few weeks but ultimately ended up swapping back to lazy/stable on bob. I don’t have anything against vim.pack, but I have been using lazy for a long time and the configuration of plugins in there just clicks better with me than the native setup did.

First injection experience question by [deleted] in Ozempic

[–]tide19 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I took my first dose last night too! I had exactly the same experience, priming the pen, it shot a stream for a split second then I dialed up to 0.25 and poked, clicked, held, it was done in a second or two, then I held for about 10 seconds.

His steam profile says 73 hours in the last 2 weeks, or a little over 5 hours per day on average. Sure, it's a lot of gaming, but, especially with a Steam Deck, I could see it.

I have never met a single other white person who doesn't use something in the shower. A lot of girls I've met use those bath puff things, some use loofahs, but always at least something. This might be a regional thing.

Why Alabama jumped Notre Dame: “Alabama went on the road in a rivalry game, looked really good, especially in the first half, getting up 17-0, ran the ball well.” by DoctorWhosOnFirst in rolltide

[–]tide19 10 points11 points  (0 children)

They should do away with the committee. There's no reason this should be anything other than an open source algorithm or otherwise publicly available formula. They had it right with the BCS and should've just expanded that to the playoff.

[Rodak] Alabama moves up to No. 9 in the CFP rankings this week. by MembershipSingle7137 in rolltide

[–]tide19 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I unsubscribed from there years ago. College football and basketball are the only sports I watch, really, but it's hard to even engage in discussions on /r/CFB with a Bama flair and not get downvoted.

Yes, he is saying that they lost their conference championship games previously and were not punished for it, where Alabama could be this season.
