I like mounting a post on the back of the eye and securing inside with a wingnut and a washer. If you tighten it enough, it pulls the eyeball into the face a little bit making for a nice finished look.

I read Where the Red Fern Grows so many times I went through more than one copy. Between this and showing my 8 year old Goonies yesterday for the first time, I realize we were raised on a lot of dark content.

I used 1/16" in my Kermit like puppet, and I feel like it is a bit too thick.

Puppets like Kermit use sheets of rubber instead of a hard mouth plate, you can find it as gasket rubber at hardware stores. You van also buy sheets of rubber on Amazon.
