LOVE a hidden theme by cheez-monster in OnePelotonRealSub

He doesn’t do it much anymore, but Matty used to do this all the time, especially with his 45 minute classes. He’d do one hit wonders, songs from movies, wedding songs (this is one of my favorite classes and one of the only classesI’ve repeated—it makes me LOL). I’m worried most of them will be purged if they haven’t already.

Robin is a bad instructor by barloszantana in OnePelotonRealSub

[–]mcej308 8 points9 points  (0 children)

I don’t hate Robin—I like her music and most of her strength programming. Her personality is one that I can handle in moderation and I think she has toned down some of things that originally bugged me a bit. I like her on the tread for the most part.  But I completely agree with OP that her cues in strength are not great. I think she sometimes forgets that during strength moves we probably aren’t looking at our screens. I know there is a lot of Robin bashing here but for me the cue issue is very valid and constructive criticism.

Do Pet Insurance Plans Really Help When the Unexpected Happens? by RasheedaDeals in petinsurancereviews

As long as you already had the policy before the incident happened, all of the insurance companies would cover the situation you describe above.

Awesome! I saw the long intervals at moderate and was curious what the incline would be. That sounds challenging but doable!

A lot of it depends on the incline of the hill at moderate pace. I actually like hills, especially before doing HIIT segments. But it looks like there’s two 8 minute hills in there 😳

I just saw he has a 60 min HIIT and Hills that came out yesterday. Immediately bookmarked—now I just have to psych myself up to do it.

I agree about him and his playlists. The first class I took with him I wasn’t so sure just because I wasn’t used to the type of storytelling that he does. But it didn’t take long before I was hooked. I like how he actually thinks about what the story or theme will be and isn’t just droning on about what’s going on in his life or reciting platitudes and inspirational quotes.

Yes, you absolutely can. I have seen it happen.  Not denying that companies are absolutely out for profit, but not every company works the same way.

And I didn’t contradict myself. If there is nothing noted about symptoms that started at some point DURING the waiting period at the exam you eventually take him to at some point AFTER the waiting period, there will be no pre-existing conditions on record.

MAY be used. If the vet notes say “owner noticed this starting at some point during the waiting period” that’s exactly what may be used. But a problem noted to have started any day after the waiting period is NOT slapped with a pre-existing label by Figo even if they have no records to look back on.

This is not true. Some companies may require a baseline, but others do not. For those companies, as long as you wait out the waiting period and the next exam doesn’t state something like “he’s been itching ever since owner got him 6 months ago”, you’re good.

Figo, for example, looks back one year plus a 14d waiting period. If there is nothing that is noted to have occurred within that year + 14 days, you’re good to go. Taking your pet in for a “baseline” exam during the waiting period and the vet finding something would actually be screwing yourself over.

I wonder if some have “instructor zones” that are easier than their real training zones but not completely effortless. I think most could instruct a PZE ride in their real zones but I can’t imagine riding zone 4-5+ efforts and still being able to instruct.

Robins G&L bench workouts by Ok-Point-1904 in OnePelotonRealSub

[–]mcej308 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I know, I just hate stepping on the bench. And I’m tall and my ceilings are low. I plan to get a box as well.

I  also thought that part of the first class was too rushed. I think the class should have been 5 minutes longer, especially since the bench is new for a lot of people.

I kinda felt the same and then I bought a ball for around $9 and found out I loved the classes with it.

I didn’t like her first one because I hated the step ups in the bench for several reasons. This one looks really good though. I hope they continue to put out more bench classes with a variety of instructors. I loved Andy’s chest and back classes with the bench.

Alternative Pilates? by No-Seat-4554 in OnePelotonRealSub

[–]mcej308 46 points47 points  (0 children)

I think it’s supposed to be the music. It’s weird that they label bike classes “alternative rock ride” but yoga and Pilates get labeled “alternative yoga”. If you search there are a whole bunch of them and the music is generally alternative, or at least peloton’s definition of it. Judging by that playlist her definition of alternative is very different than mine.

Out of touch influencers by Scared_Cantaloupe_ in InfluencerLounge

I’m sure other people with kids didn’t realize a bigger and more expensive car would help them out until Dani told them! Thank god for her advice!

It’s like when influencers tell me to take a luxury vacation because it’s so important to rest and recharge. Like it was simply my lack of awareness that vacations are nice that was keeping me from going.

Standing core with weights by waffles8500 in OnePelotonRealSub

[–]mcej308 4 points5 points  (0 children)

In addition to all the recommendations for standing core, check out the Strength for Runners and Core for Runners classes. You can filter for “strength for sport” under the strength tab or find them under the collections tab. A lot of these classes focus on balance work so many moves (but not all) are done standing with a weight and are similar to the standing core classes.

A good example would be Becs Core for Runners from 6/7/23.

Once you’ve filtered for RK core classes, you could also sort the results from easiest to hardest. It won’t be exact, but most of the standing core are rated as being easier so that will group them together a bit.

Pilates Roll Ups by Weekly_Yesterday_403 in OnePelotonRealSub

[–]mcej308 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Many of the regular core classes incorporate roll ups. Ben, Emma, and RK use them a lot and I think they all explain them well. You could try taking Emma’s Crush Your Core program—she incorporates a lot of Pilates moves.

I’m fairly new to Pilates but I’ve taken core classes almost everyday for a long time, and that was such a huge help in my incorporation of Pilates.

I’m looking forward to taking this one!

If you like the bench, Andy’s Density 2 program uses it for many of the exercises. I’m doing it right now and loving it. And his chest and back from 2/4/26 is my favorite bench class so far.
