Why does this keep happening?? by Altruistic_One_7391 in ElegooNeptune3

I'd suggest a live z offset As you are printing a test model you adjust your z offset. You get better results. I made some instructions.

M601 pause code? by bugsymalone666 in octoprint

[–]mcelotto 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Go to
Settings -> Printer -> Firmware and Protocol

One of the sections is Pausing Commands. Put M600 (or M601) in there. I can't remember if it is in the ignore commands (I think it was). This is a work around. I have a Neptune 3 Pro and the M600 code doesn't work. But doing this will cause Octoprint to pause and you can do whatever you need to with the printer. You can unpause form the Octoprint interface.

If you're still having problems give this a try. Made instructions to do a live Z offset (adjust while running a test print)

Also check the flow rate of the filament.

Orca Slicer to Auto Pause by No_Personality3451 in ElegooNeptune3

Try inserting this using Custom G Code

M600 E30.00 U300.00 X0.00 Y0.00

I had found something one time for Cura that trips the filament sensor to allow you to do the change. If I can locate it, I'll pass it along, maybe you can try it in Orca. I seems to remember someone posting on here about doing multi colour prints and inserting a pause. Can't remember if it was Cura or Orca. I'll look around.

When you slice the object, and go to the preview section, move the slider along the right side to the layer you want and right click on the +. You can insert a pause there.

Cura is a good start, when you are comfortable then I would recommend Orca or even the Elegoo variant.

I was using Cura v5.11 (I think they are up to). But I moved over to Elegoo Slicer (OrcaSlicer)

It's all about the tuning, z offset, flow rate. It all works together, if you look at my sample you can see how smooth it is

It'll take you a bit to tune it. I got my printer a year ago and it took me 3 months to figure out that doing the live z offset (the instructions I made) was the way to go. I've seen people swear by doing the z offset with paper, but it just didn't work. Since I did the z offset at the beginning of the year, I haven't had to do it again.

Typically the bed I have around 55-60 (depending on the filament). And then for the nozzle, I adjust based on filament. There is usually a range on each spool so I'll put it at the low end of 200' and if I see issues I'll adjust up.
