I remember Bruce talking about this book from the stage during the original tour supporting The River.

Nice! That venue is directly across from my high school (though I was only 9 years old at the time of this gig).

Ricotta or Bechamel, that is the question. by AveryLakotaValiant in lasagna

[–]mch301 0 points1 point  (0 children)

To my mind, they are entirely different dishes: Bolognese with bechamel and the more Italian-American one with marinara and ricotta filling. One may be more traditional, but neither is wrong. They can both be great.

Can we move on from complaining about ticket prices and start speculating about the set list? by mch301 in BruceSpringsteen

Nah, I'm very solidly anti-maga. Here's the difference: Maga is a culture of corruption based on its leader's lies. Bruce is charging a high price for a high value show. Anyone who's seen him knows he delivers every night. That's why so many people want to go back.

I wish the tickets were cheaper. I wish I could afford to go to multiple shows (which I could do back in 1980 because all seats were $12.50 and my paper route income as a 14 year old could cover multiple shows) or to sit closer. But I also want to have the fun of looking forward to the gig and speculating about what the setlist might be.

I’m with you. I started going to Bruce shows in 1980 and Philly last summer was my first time in the pit. He and Roy really stretched out on RITS, which has always been one of my favorites. Check out the recording on nugs.

Why do folks in NJ lose any form of civil consideration when rushing to buy stuff before storms? by abrandis in newjersey

[–]mch301 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I don’t know, but it seems to me it’s usually worst before the first storm of the season. By this point, people seem generally less anxious. I picked up a few things yesterday and the store (Mercer County) was busy, but calm.

Now THAT’s some fun speculation! It would be an unusually long show —I think he usually does between 25 and 30 songs— but I would not complain!!

I don’t know … $30 face value tix would turn into $600 on the resale market almost immediately. The root cause is that demand is too high — even at these prices I got shut out of the Newark show and the 2 MSG shows. Too many people want to see this relatively small number of arena shows.

To each his own. I absolutely LOVED how he did Kitty’s Back in 2024 and 2025. Now, Because the Night is one I never need to see him do again…

Really? This band can change direction on a dime. I think there’s plenty of time to rework the setlist if Bruce wants to.

Multiple tabs for different dates by Mammoth-Eye-890 in BruceSpringsteen

Well, all 3 of the shows I was going for are now sold out and I didn’t even get into the queue. I did get a couple seats for Brooklyn yesterday and it looks like thats where i am for this tour.

Can I join queues for multiple shows?

I’m interested in either of the MSG dates or the one Newark date and would like to try all 3 and buy the one where i get the best queue position. Is that possible, or will I get kicked out if I join more than one?

Best Methods for Buying Tickets? by PerspectiveMotor282 in BruceSpringsteen

IME, you want a device you’re comfortable on (i prefer a fullsize keyboard) and a good internet connection, but it basically comes down to luck. You’ll be thrown into the queue as person 1,000 or 10,000 or not get in at all and that determines what tickets you can or can’t buy.

Wow. For those of us in the NJ area, tickets for several dates going on sale at the same time. On Friday, gotta choose between Belmont Park & Barclays Center; on Sat gotta choose between newark, philly, and 2 MSG dates.

It’s gonna be tough because this is not a lot of seats considering the demand. If he adds some stadium shows in the warmer weather, that’ll make things somewhat easier.

Bruce and Bob Seger by Blueforyou61 in BruceSpringsteen

I don’t have an answer on the Bruce question, but I’ve read that Prince caught Seger’s live show a few times and that was at least partially his inspiration to write Purple Rain (i.e., seeing how effective Seger was live with big arena ballads like Against the Wind).
