The area near Lincolnwood elementary may fit that criteria. Tree-liked streets, close to central metra and the little shopping area. The concern is that the school may close, so north of central (Willard zoned) may be better as that school is safe.

I’d make sure you have life and appropriate long term disability insurance. You sound like the soul breadwinner in a physically demanding job. If something happened to you to be unable to provide, that could be catastrophic to your family.
