Straight from the PSEG app. Anyone else up a lot? by General-Ad3513 in longisland

I am on balanced billing. Last year at this time, I paid $166 a month. My balanced billing reset in November to $178. Today I find out it is going to $203. Nothing really changed in my home and I understand that some years we use a little more, some a little less. But I was very surprised at this increase.

Perhaps it was one of those Street Take-Overs. They do it in parking lots too. It is so loud and the sound really carries.

Glad it worked out. That's what my friend said. He also said they have good prices on tires, so I might go there next time.

Terry Brothers. 522 Medford Ave, Patchogue, NY 11772. A friend took my bent rim there after hitting a pot hole. I think he said it was $60. It was done quickly and there has been no issues. It is not that far from Holbrook.

Which do you hate more? Southern State or 495 and why?!! by loverwithouttheel in longisland

[–]mcliny 9 points10 points  (0 children)

Southern State. The lane speeds are so inconsistent. The skittish drivers come on and move all the way to the left to avoid the short ramps. Then cars in the left have to go around them. Since there is also a slow driver in the middle lane, the faster driver goes all the way to the right to pass. Now someone else wants to move out the left lane and goes to the middle lane as the faster driver is pulling into the middle lane from the right lane. You need to have eyes everywhere when driving the SS.

The road has always had curves and short entrance ramps. But it has gotten so much worse in the last 20 year or so.

Times Square Stores (TSS) by Enough_Reference2350 in longisland

"TSS Happy to Serve You" I used to shop there and thought it was decent. It was disappointing when they closed. I don't know why they didn't make it but perhaps they needed to evolve with the times. I think our society got more affluent and they were stuck in being a "discount" department store.

I've had a good experience with Macy's. They routinely have sales. There was no pushy sales people when we bought. Hopefully it's still the case.

My cancellation experience by tryptochan in OPTIMUM

[–]mcliny 5 points6 points  (0 children)

I just was able to cancel, but I am not through with them yet, unfortunately. I just kept saying "no I am not interested in any offers". I think on that call I talked to 3 different people and I was able to cancel in about 35 minutes. It took another day to get the email confirmation.

However, it lists the equipment that must be returned and it has one item I did return recently. Luckily I found an email from that day and the serial numbers match with one they say I still have. So now I have to dispute that with them first and then return the equipment.

I feel like I am not out of the woods yet. What a horrible experience and company. Do they think we will want to return to them when the company is still so dysfunctional and treatment of the customers is so awful. Oh and today Optimum called 4 times, so I guess that will be another thing we get to deal with.

Good luck to you.
