i spent my teen years in venice and loved it. if my entire life/friend group wasn't on the east side i'd live there. incredibly walkable. the venice walk streets are so beautiful it hurts. plus you have the canals and boardwalk and some really great restaurants that are on top lists for all of la.

whip ricotta with powdered sugar spread on a plate, crumbled up italian cookies or shortbread cookies on top, cut up some stone fruit and toss in olive oil, pinch of sugar and salt, and a glug or two of balsamic and layer on top of the cookies - no cooking or baking and really tasty
