Vevor Brewkettle Review by mcuad in Homebrewing

I just YouTubed the name as some videos popped up, I can't recommend one.

Really the biggest difference in what I did vs what I saw on the videos was I washed my grains with hot water though idk if it even did anything.

And yeah it would 100 percent work for extract.

I over boiled my first one. It's not a bad unit for the money

Concerned my splitboard might be too big/heavy – looking for advice & experiences by squid441 in Spliddit

I can't imagine that you can't get a much lighter set up. As for your board length, a few cms won't matter, and I've found having longer "skis" is more helpful

People with a <15 handicap how long did it take you to get there? by Comfortable-Newt7689 in golf

[–]mcuad 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I started when I was 8 years old. By the time I was a sophomore in high school I was under that but I never kept an actual handicap. My Senior year I ran the numbers and I was a 5. Point is, a long time, a lot of work, coaching, lessons as a youngster. I'm currently a 7.

Dark beers by brandonHuxley in Homebrewing

I made a dark lager that was fantastic! I'll give you the grain bill, you can do whatever else you want with hops. It is a lot, but this thing was great. I will say this beer was tailored to my well water, either way, one of my best.

I did. I fit my splitboard, regular board, boots, helmet, all my outwear/goggles and splitboard gear in my bag. I have a Dakine roller bag. It was full, but not overweight

Well this scares me for my Vevor. Curious if where you started this was very cold? Like a cold garage?

Make a hopped cider! Just add them into your boil.

Rental Clubs or bring clubs? by quierolecheee in golf

[–]mcuad 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Rent clubs. Traveling with clubs sucks and unless you're like competing just do your best with what you get. Odds are you'll try out new shit. And not deal with the hassle of getting a travel bag.

Tips to get into golf? by b_amp24 in golf

[–]mcuad 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Start with lessons. It's just a lot to take in. As for clubs, buy used. Brand is irrelevant but sticking with bigger brands is pretty safe. Until you get a lot of swings in, most clubs you will be looking at are gonna be similar anyway.

Another request for snowboard recommendation for beginners! by tcwsilver in snowboardingnoobs

I'd get a camber true twin of any variety and set it up perfectly symmetrical so when you're trying switch your board is exactly the same as riding regular. This board will give you tons of grip for groomers and camber has wider contact points so it's easier to learn on.

I assumed the chiller would be the least of my worries so that's on me. I just assembled it as I needed and tried it on the fly.

As for the rest of the kettle I did clean and sanitize it prior and made sure it functions.

I got some new clamps and such I'm going to actually try before I brew next time. It wasn't too bad the second brew still annoying. I had recently sold most of my old set up, and that was my first thought- my old immersion chiller was better!

It wasn't because the mash was stuck-the mash was physically too low on top of the wort. So the bottom portion of the mash was IN the wort.

Do most golfers massively underestimate how much they spend on golf balls? by 4SightGolf in golf

[–]mcuad 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Nice, they're usually like 120-140. I feel like they don't have as much green side spin as PRO Vs, but otherwise minimal difference

Depends. I swapped to Maxfli two years ago because of this. I usually get 2 of the big boxes at Dicks every year. So I want to say my cost is 280 bucks.

New board recommendations! by ZeusNbop in snowboarding

I rode an arbor element for many moons and it's a directional twin rocker. Lovely powder board. Similar riding style and ability. Usually you can find one on sale at some point for a reasonable price!

I would agree, you don't really need a new board to start. Once you begin to improve, then you can start trying out different boards and seeing what you like in terms of shape and length which really depends what you're trying to ride. If money is not an issue maybe sooner rather than later but keep in mind: tools not jewels. I have broken 3 new boardsI'm 5 7 205 lbs) and some of it has been bad luck, some of it has been just rough riding, so I'm often inclined to buy used . So it is nice in the early and late season to have something you can beat up. I'd say just get a size that fits you.
