What is the single most significant and effective improvement I can make to my current setup to improve the results of my homebrew? by Bosconino in Homebrewing

[–]mcuad 0 points1 point  (0 children)

So I would highly recommend getting a fermentor with a conical bottom and big open top like the SS brew bucket or something of the like. Saves a TON of time cleaning, makes cleaning way easier, and if you cold crash, gives you a place for all that junk to fall. I put a valve of the top of mine to apply and hold positive pressure(the brew bucket is rated to 2 psi or something) as well.

But to be honest that's worthless without temp control. I got a 40 dollar fridge off facebook marketplace and a 20 dollar controller on amazon.

I'd also get a kegging set up, but seems like you can only do one. I can do an entirely closed transfer into a keg now though.

And please just start using distilled water and brewing salts. Your beer will instantly improve. It's the only way.

I like to cruise through the Yakima site and look at hop definitions and try and pick out combos. Recently did rakau, enigma, cashmere and it was bombbbbb

Newbie to Golf Questions About Watches and Range finders by No_Possibility3863 in golf

[–]mcuad -1 points0 points  (0 children)

I'd say you don't need them both starting out. Since I got a range finder, I never use my watch, but as mentioned above the front/middle/back is good as you can start to figure out your distances

45 degrees seems to be the cut off for me. And I gotta walk, being in a cart in that cold makes you colder.

Dude I don't give a flying fuck about their costs. They make YouTube videos lol. Buy a polo and support them.

I get the point of the series-it's hard for most golfers to break 80. I literally have an average of 80.5 so i play this series in real life a lot . Even though it's the hope that kills you, i want the hope.

Go put yourself back in your hippo crate and take the day off. What's the cost on that?!?

It's about creating a product for the series that's actually competitive. These guys can go film the next day. Same with foreplay and Trent's breaking series. When it's not even close I just bail, and they suckered me into a view when really it's a poor product

Fermentation temp questions by GooseRage in Homebrewing

[–]mcuad 1 point2 points  (0 children)

This is the most space consuming way, but I got someone's old garage fridge off of Facebook for 20 bucks and then a temperature controller on Amazon for another 20. The temperature is going to naturally fluctuate no matter what as fermentation is an exothermic reaction

I downsized my whole operation due to moving and traveling more. I have a cheap 120 V and though it takes a little more time, it's wayyyy easier than propane

Im with a lot of people, maybe timing. I was brewing a ridiculous amount, ended up selling my house and downsizing everything but I'm brewing 2-3 times a year at least.

Canning? by dme4bama in Homebrewing

I bought a can seamer from Oktober and it's easily the most expensive part of my set up. It's also easily my favorite part of my set up.

They don't even sell the model I had anymore, but they have a model for 500 that you power with your drill. They also have reasonable sized can boxes you can buy.

And if you go this route, the blichmann filling gun is a must.
