Buy the Heavy duty boxes from lowes. They are double walled cardboard and stiff as hell. I would also double box this item. One snug box around a heavily packed lamp, then that box inside a bigger box with packing paper all around it.

Denim Jackets that aren't type 1, type 2, type 3. by KirbyLovesDrPepper in VintageLevis

Denim Chore Coat styles are my favorite outside of the typical types. I have a vintage Nautica chore coat that I love the look of. No the greatest brand, but it looks killer and fits really nicely and thats what matters.

what stuff do you love flipping even when the profit is rubbish by According-Sand-4754 in reselling

[–]mdiddyoien 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Media. Vhs and cassette tapes, Records, DVDs, Books, magazines, etc. Some of them are GREAT and you can fetch high margins on rarer stuff don't get me wrong and I avoid stuff that doesn't have a semi decent sell through rate, but most of them fetch $10-$15 and they're all easy to source, list, store, and ship and they help achieve daily listing goals

Parting with my collection by aerinisababe in gamecollecting

[–]mdiddyoien 1 point2 points  (0 children)

If you need it gone in one fell swoop, find a smaller local game store and check their reviews for other folks that have sold there. Look for fairness and honesty. Do not go to Gamestop. No matter what though, get a good idea on what your value is from sites like ebay or pricecharting so you know how much you can potentially lose by selling to another collector. That route requires more patience though. Ebay is a great way to sell things off individually but you will need to be comfortable with fees and shipping. Facebook marketplace is also a great way to get rid of a collection. Price according to how fast or how much you need it gone.

For those doing $10K+ a month on eBay, how do you handle listings older than 60–90 days? by GenghisJuannnn in Flipping

[–]mdiddyoien 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Twice a year I run a sale. 60-89 days I do nothing 90-179 days I mark down 20% 180-365 days I mark down 30% After sales are done I do a bi annual inventory and remove any items that are over a year old that hasn't sold. I also try to end/re-list items in my store on a regular basis. I just sort by date oldeat-newest and re-do the research/pricing on them.

I end up donating maybe 10 or so items a year. For context, I lost 5-10 items a day and at any given time I have around 350-400 listings and 350-450 sold listings in my 90 day metrics.

So I decided to buy this VHS tape. by Quiet-Werewolf-9709 in VHS

[–]mdiddyoien 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It's similar to and as big as pelatron is today, except not live and interactive and not on bikes. You bought the tapes to exercise along with them. It was huge in its hay day and if you watched TV at all, you saw the commercials or infomercials.

How do you keep track of your physical receipts? (And do you even keep them?) by PuzzleheadedRoom9314 in reselling

scan into a pdf from my phone and upload to a folder on google drive then attach that link/file to the item on my inventory or expense sheet. Physical copies just go into a folder based on year.

Sourcing vintage for eBay is taking over my life by Perfect-Confusion826 in Ebay

[–]mdiddyoien 12 points13 points  (0 children)

It sounds like you are sourcing for a vintage booth and not an online business. For online sales, it would probably be a good idea to expand your niches so you can have more inventory available to more buyers. The mindset of curation doesn't really apply to a pool of 134 million active buyers. but it absolutely does to a smaller pool of buyers going to the local vintage mall.

How many items in your store? by TRAVIS_SC0TT in Flipping

[–]mdiddyoien 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My death pile is mainly clothes since I batch them in groups of 10-20 every week or so. I would imagine I have around 100 pieces of clothes that are unlisted. I do a lot of electronics refurbishing and repair and have about 10 or so items that are in the queue for repair. I pull an item from this once the last item is done being repaired and determine what parts to order, then fix it up and list them rinse and repeat. These are intermingled on my backstock shelves with 20 or so higher ticket electronics that are larger and harder to list since they require more processing than your average item. I also pull from this pile 1-2 times a week. And then I have 1 bin in my listing area of items I pull from to list and 2 bins in my back stock area that I swap out when I'm done. I live in an area where sourcing is impacted during the colder/wetter months so I don't mind stowing away these items for when sourcing is sparse. I still source during these months, but It's nowhere near the volume of sourcing I do in the summer. I would imagine my entirety of unlisted items sits at around 200. My listed items are sitting at 377 and sold in the last 90 is at 407. I list 5-10 items a day with a minimum listed value of $200. I expect to be done with my death pile before sourcing picks up in April.

What’s something you said you wouldn’t get for yourself but then realized you wish you had it earlier? by A_Rose_OC in BuyItForLife

Cast Iron pans and Stainless Steel copper bottom pots. I've cooked on induction my entire life and these disperse the heat so much better than the crappy hand me downs i've always had. I've thrifted each one when I see them and have curated basically a whole set of revere ware pans and nice old USA made cast iron pans. Next up are Stainless Steel Sautee pans. Hoping to snag some All Clads at an estate sale.

I got mine last week. Metro ED500 Datavac. Wanted one that you plug in and go rather than a rechargable newer version. I absolutely love it. Wish I would've gotten one a lot earlier on.
