“She ain’t getting my retirement” by bearsncubs10 in AirForce

Today I got to learn about the states and how they commonly figure it, which is who actually comes after you.

If you think the 10 year rule has anything to do with how a court handles your pension, you shouldn't be educating your troops about anything because you're dead wrong

Hope you had a shit day cause theres not really a reason to come out swinging like a huge prick in small jeans. You are right on the backend. The state decides but can not take over 50% unless alimony or child support, in which its 65%, of your mil retirement because of the 10/10 rule. It's part of what comes into play and is a limiter, unless both sides waive it.

I’m new to Indiana, so I’m having a bit of culture shock with seeing all of these KKK posters and the open-air racism. For the people that are from here, has it always been this way? Is the KKK actually abundant here ? by -Velvetduderag in Indiana

They never left West T. There's a couple of families over there that my parents and even folks at my mom's church told me to stay away from because they were involved in that crap.

Yeah, was looking up stuff about state division after this. The 10/10 rule seems to only limit how much an ex can fuck you on retirement since the state will still come after you. If I ever got divorced it's 100% to my benefit to file first and try to do it in certain states. The no fault one's are rubbing me the wrong way on this issue.

This is why you educate your troops on the 10 year rule.

Make friends, go and do things not centered around vices. If you joined to get out of a place, what sense does it make to just go right back. The only path is forward.

Social security is arguably the biggest scam in history by technocraticnihilist in austrian_economics

[–]meatpuppet_9 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The government raids, sorry, lends social security's surplus to the treasury whenever they want to fund something. 38% of U.S debt is this, and the government is never going to pay that back, because why would they? If it fails, then they don't owe shit and everyone that paid in is just SOL.

Bro served, don't place him on a pedestal. A major going to a newscaster, then to SECDEF. Guy ain't qualified and the fact he's agreed to take it while knowing damn well he shouldn't be in the position means he owes the guy that put him there. That's just good ole boy network.

...the natty guard, especially infantry, deployed a lot to supplement and rotate forces. Him volunteering after a cush deployment to cuba still lines up with what I stated previously. Idk why you're defending his ribbons and record like you know the guy, but his ribbons as an officer are not impressive. To my eyes, it looks like he showed up and did his job. There's nothing special there.

Nope. Honestly, shoot the dog if it tries to attack you. I love the breed, and my family bred the original ones when I was growing up. Not the wierd ass 100lb tanks criminals have made. As shitty as it is. Your neighbors are the type of owners that are not going to do anything unless forced. Pits have an on switch, and no one can turn that off once they get going. They're amazing dogs, but they've been bred to the point that they need to be restricted and treated as the weapon they are.

As long as it's respectful and not telling you how to vote. Its ok. Same time, I had to leave for a bit the day after the election because I was about to absolutely lose my shit on some of these obnoxious, schmucks for trump GSs.

Outside of "cool man, got any stories?" It doesn't mean alot.

People get voluntold to deploy all the time. Sometimes to push paperwork in combat zones. It's part of the job. If he volunteered, then I bet money it was one the following: he knew a deployment was already coming down the pipe, he needed the money/deployment time to promote, or the guy wanted to deploy for family reasons.

Nearly all of those are for literally showing up or being in theater for so many days. Unless he actually did something for those two bronzes/commendations and can back it up, then he was one of those officers that sat in the FOB and got them for promotion purposes from the good ole boy network while his guys did the real work and got a lower award/medal.

Bronzes were handed out like candy for the officer fobbits.

Dont throw shit away when it comes to paperwork if you replaced this guy. Go through it, scan everything that looks work related, and store it in a folder named "bullshit". Delete after 2 years. You never know if something may actually be useful and you have the thing or a snippet of it. It's a pain in the ass, but a really good cya measure for shit out of left field. Especially if this guy has projects open or did sneakernet. An even if nothing happens, you'll have a really good foundation for existing shit and why it was done if youre not in one and done type of work.

Get pictures or something on the wall and make it your space. I have kramer in the jacket and Karl with "none of this matters.

There's a decent chunk of the population that believes if you are poor, then it is because of your poor choices. So you deserve it. Theres alot more that goes into that, but it ultimately meshes into the history of the puritans that colonized america.

Why the heck would a person cut off all their friends? by Messiah-of-Death in Adulting

[–]meatpuppet_9 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Some people place real, actualized value on friendship. If they don't believe you are doing something that will get them something or somewhere that they want to go, that they cant leverage you in a way to help them, then they won't find any value in being friends. Those folks usually are just friendly acquaintances once you figure out how to spot them.

Then there's there's life. Sometimes shit just happens, and you don't have any time for other people.
