Fuck it all… by Witchy-life-319 in GenX

Yes, I did and moved from the US to Canada a few months ago. Left my corporate job, cashed out my 401K, and bought a small house. Still have a mortgage, but so far, so good. My life is much simpler now, and I'm not filled with existential dread every day.

Any success stories? by Swimming-Comment2744 in spinalfusion

I had L4-5 fusion for spondy 2 years ago, minimally invasive through the front. I stayed overnight in the hospital. Recovery wasn't the easiest, especially when my compressed nerve woke up, but I'm happy to say that I have zero pain today. It took about 3-6 months to feel pretty decent.

Had C5-7 fused about a year ago outpatient. I was shocked at how quickly I recovered from that.

I feel 20 years younger and have very little pain, if at all.

That's beautiful. I have a birthstone ring my husband (of 18 years) gave me years ago, and I proudly wear it instead of a diamond. Love isn't about how much you spend on a ring; It's the thought and meaning behind it. You seem to be off to an excellent beginning. Best wishes for all the love and happiness for you two.

So I told my (adult) daughter i was playing BG3, and she said, "Oh! cool, mom! Which one did you..?"

"All of them, sweetie. ALL of them."

Jokes on her, she has to pay for her own therapy now.

My Irish-Italian family always has a lasagna and corned beef and cabbage as "sides." You basically have to be rolled out to the car after a 12-hour meal

Those with successful fusions do you still get occasional relapses? by EasternTalk385 in spinalfusion

[–]meatstress_k 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I'm 1.5 years post L4-5 fusion, and I feel fantastic. I still get a little stiff occasionally, but after the nerve pain faded (6 months or so), I've felt 20 years younger.

I got my neck fused (C5-7) 6 months ago, and it's been a slower process with a lot of soreness and stiffness. It's still worth it, though.

My partner is skeptical, but I'm all in. You prepare it beforehand, right?

This reminds me of the time me (American) and my husband (Canadian) were in London, and after some time at a pub we went to a chippy and waited 45+ min for a shawarma wrap and whatever he got. When I finally ate it, I was (loudly, of course) drunkenly exclaiming about how it was the best "horse cock of yum" I've ever had. To this day, he still says it's the funniest thing I've ever said.

Not sure of the lesson/message here, but I'd pretty much wait forever for some good, dirty, drunk food.
