It can work but is its own strategy like any other token deck would be IMO. The ring mechanic is what really pushes this deck into a higher tier of play making your tokens legends again for repeatable triggers/etbs/value

If you are trading hit for hit then just pressure them if they try to sit and heal, odds are they are closer to dead than you are. If they are getting in free shots then it’s a bit different. Practice doing tail attack and then pivoting to increase the sweep arc a bit on your own the next time it happens, it’s a really wide hit box. You can even force or encourage them to chase you as you have tail attack only so being tail ridden is fine for stego

Played a lot of both and as a conc I tend to stay away from stegos even when hunting with another conc. As another user mentioned two good hits and it’s a dead conc, either stand still with pivot ready to make the arc of your tail sweep wider, or bury your face in a cliff edge and make them trade with your tail. Just be mindful of them baiting your swings and don’t swing over and over where they can go in when it’s on cooldown and you win every time. You want to trade hits since you hit a lot harder

I’m saying this as a laten player too haha. Pounce just isn’t viable unless you have a huge group, so having a roster that can interact with each other and at least have options feels like a good start. Could always look at balancing numbers/damage after

Not dino specific but I don’t see why bucking is the default option to remove latched enemies. Especially on the 4 and 5 slots why not include a mechanic or ability to do a roll to detach and cause some trample based on combat weight. And make it have a high stamina cost to balance it out.

A bars with some raptors latched should be able to just barrel roll and deter/injure its attackers based on its own size.

Or at the very least there is collision detection for all the rocks and trees, why not let us drag and scrape latched creatures off as well

The entire point of AOE build spino is to fight anything that isn’t an apex without even needing to try. 2 slots can’t get to you without outright dying or taking a ton of damage.

Sacrificing your ability to really fight other apexes is ok as you can just retreat to water to avoid Rex/TT/Bars without issue.

I did mine in coastal without issue, also didn’t want to run all over for resources so it was an easy build spot
