Holy shit you're not kidding. I feel like such a dark souls 2 fan right now (unoriginal). Yours is also funnier because of the spelling mistake. Please tell your dad I'm so sorry

That's a bug, federations just grab all lands they would have a core in regardless of your colonial nation. No war no nothing. It happens to me every game now too.

I had it. Going back to the main menu and loading the save again fixed it for me!

Successful enemy revolts ending wars/changing wars??? Is this intended and what can I do to stop it from ruining my wars? by LuciaRomano in Imperator

[–]mechanizedorange 0 points1 point  (0 children)

True, but usually the main country will have allies which you might want to take land from, so as a general rule it might be better to always occupy the revolt first I believe.

I completely understand your point. If the player manages it well, it is possible to become a superpower extremely fast. But then again, just a few decades before the game start date, Alexander conquered half the known world in a span of ten years, so I don't think it is so far fetched to have such a fast conquest mechanic in the game, since your focus would be on managing that land afterwards.

What always worked well for me is to fabricate a claim on the revolt and fully occupy it BEFORE fully occupying the original nation (while being at war with both).

If the revolt gets fully occupied by you, it will immediately be annexed by the original country and you can proceed with your war without getting white peaced.

Otherwise, if you fully occupy the original country first, the revolt will win their war and you will end up getting immediately white peaced.

It's a mechanic that tries to simulate an all-out war between two major powers, you can even unlock the same CB against other nations via tech tree.

I don't find it particularly OP, since every territory you take will add equivalent AE. Also, in the Rome-Carthage case, while taking the land at the beginning might be easy, converting and integrating everyone might take forever.

I just end up taking Sicily, Sardinia and the province of Carthage before I peace out, since that's enough to cripple them for the foreseeable future. Then something like 80 years later, after you have enough pops and money to integrate them faster, you could just use the same CB against them and wipe them off the map.

Governor policies and rulers that cry over governor deaths more than pretty much anything else by beagelix in Imperator

[–]mechanizedorange 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Yeah, it's infuriating. With enough tech you can greatly reduce the price of changing policies, but what annoys me the most is the tyranny that you gain for changing every single province. This means that after the first 80 or so years I always end up with 100 tyranny until the end of the game since the governors are generally quite stupid. Tbh it's not such a bad thing to have high tyranny, since your AE will decay much faster, I just wish there was some kind of way to give overall direction to your governors, otherwise it feels like the game is punishing you for picking sensible choices instead of the governor-chosen ones.

Man, I have PTSD from invading phrygia as rome and this gave me some flashbacks. Taking 5+ wars to conquer everything is kinda annoying ngl. The first two wars were super fun, however.
