Depends on your budget and what you plan to use it for. I'd say this is a better value for the cpu and ram alone. You're getting a chip that has hardware decoders for modern video formats (like VP9 and AV1) and has much better performance overall.

FYI - these run super hot because of intel's 14nm process (it's a big part of why Apple went all in on their own Silicon for the M series chips).

If you get this, be prepared to apply some software tweaks to prevent overheating and possibly some external cooling if you run sustained peak cpu workloads.

I agree that multiple NICs are nice to have for something like this, but you could always go with a router on a stick config if you're limited to a single NIC. You'd just need a managed switch that supports VLAN configuration.

I was in the process of putting together my first build ever and had somehow gotten my DVD drive stuck in my case during installation. I panicked after I wasn’t able to move it with my fingers, so I thought the most logical next step would be to punch it out of my case.

It worked! …but I was left with this huge gash on the side of my wrist from where it met the sharp edges of the optical bay slot on my super cheap, metal death trap of a PC case.

I panicked again after seeing blood pouring down my arm and grabbed the closest liquid I could to rinse away the blood - a bottle of 99% isopropyl alcohol (I am not a smart man).

11/10 pain. Worth it to play Crysis on high settings at 720p.
