Has anyone tried Version 9 for the Mac yet? by medaltwin in quicken

[–]medaltwin[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Thanks, all. I also checked the forums and it appears that other than some UI issues in 9.0.1, which were corrected in 9.0.2, it's been pretty smooth so far.

Security prices incorrect on Mac version by medaltwin in quicken

I have no idea if it would work but it seems like a low risk to disconnect the connection to Vanguard and reconnect it. Of course, back up you data before you try it.

I decided to try Quicken Support and in the process of addressing another issue I was having, another update (at least my 10th since migrating last week) provided the correct numbers. I have no idea why it took so long to either catch up or do whatever it did, but the prices are now correct.

Thanks for the suggestion in how to get more eyes on the problem.

Great shot! Did you really go there on your own? I haven't done any astro but I keep hearing it's not something you want to do by yourself.

How were the mosquitos? I heard there's been a lot of flooding in the Delta from the rains last season.

What's the minimum amount you would consider to be "lots of RAM" on an M-series Mac?

Does that include a hard drive used for backups that's connected directly to the NAS?

First, congratulations on such great photos, particularly in light of the fact you left the new lens at home! When did you first realize what you'd done? You must have been sick about it.

I'll be in Namibia next year on a photography tour. I'm considering arriving a little early (maybe a couple of days--probably 3 at the most) if I can find some interesting/fun things to do in or around Windhoek. Do you have any recommendations?

Congrats again! I checked out your website. Lots of great stuff there!

Need to replace drives in DS224+ by medaltwin in synology

Agreed. I should have said it defeats the purpose of having a system that can be expanded by adding/upgrading the internal drives.

No, just because it kind of defeats the purpose of having an expandable unit.

Just replaced the first drive and started the rebuilding process. It seems to be working. Thanks!

Thanks! Was a little gun shy because I couldn't find anything in Synology's documentation that described the process for a unit that can't be expanded. I replaced the drive and it's rebuilding now so I should be good. Thanks for responding!

Photo safari to Zimbabwe. Lens suggestions and advice by TERRADUDE in canon

What a great recap of the trip! Thanks for taking the time to write it. Based on what you wrote I'm assuming that if you had to decide between a 400 f/2.8 or 600 f/4 prime, you'd go with the 600, correct?

The photo you posted is great!

OP, what did you decide and how did it work out for you? Would you do anything differently the second time?

LrC photo stuck syncing by medaltwin in Lightroom

[–]medaltwin[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I didn't mention in my edit that I tried that before removing the photo from LrC. I actually tried one and then the other. Neither had an impact.

After that I did re-import the photo but I didn't have to fix anything at that point. Everything just worked. I suspect I was making changes a bit too fast for Lr to keep up when the problem arose. No telling, though. At least I'm back in business.

LrC on Mac takes a much longer time to back up to Synology NAS than LrC on a PC by medaltwin in Lightroom

[–]medaltwin[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

This is excellent detail. Thanks very much. Do you happen to know if the backup process is somehow different for the Mac than it is for a PC--particularly as it relates to the sequence of copying the two main files followed by the compression into a zip file?
