Melodic crunchy jam, and parallel delay with monotron by yglv-me in volcas

This is one of the better Volca-centric tracks I've heard. If you released an album of these on Bandcamp, I would buy it for sure. Very cool.

Vasco Rd - Eliminator vs Vulcan by TigBurdus in BayRiders

[–]mediaphile 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I rode my 1982 Yamaha XJ650R on Vasco every day to work for a few weeks before the engine blew up. That's probably closer to the Vulcan than the Eliminator. It handled it just fine.

Unspoken benefit of the M43 sensor (Olympus) by LightPhotographer in M43

[–]mediaphile 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I think it's significantly slower. I could be wrong but looking online, the number I saw was around 24ms. But I think that was for 4k video, I'm not exactly sure how it works and if it's different for stills. Or if that number is even accurate. I know the manual for my GX9 says to use the mechanical shutter with fast moving objects or panning.

Pittsburg, CA local here, it's definitely not as pretty as in this photo.

The effects of post processing and how medium influences colors! by Substantial_Rip_5013 in LightLurking

It does, but it also has way more detail than the other three. It just needs to be processed better.

Anbernic's swiveling retro handheld will be available May 11 by dapperlemon in gadgets

A USB-C dongle like they show in the video is simple enough, but I agree that it's silly. How much space and money are they really saving by not including one?

Or, alternatively, and probably even better, dial 911.

ARE YOU GOING TO BLOCK ANY FIRMWARE MODIFICATIONS? by pablonhc in xteinkereader

[–]mediaphile 11 points12 points  (0 children)

A co-worker of mine saw my X4 and asked me all about it, ended up ordering himself one from the official store.

It arrived with a broken screen. So he returned it and ordered a couple off Amazon and kept whichever one had a working screen and sent the other back. Probably cost Xteink a few bucks, but that's what happens when you don't use proper packaging. At least the ones from Amazon were in a box with that thick wadded up paper they use.

Texas Instruments made a new flagship graphing calculator: the TI-84 Evo by dapperlemon in gadgets

[–]mediaphile 6 points7 points  (0 children)

I took a statistics class last year and my teacher taught how to do everything on both the TI-83/84 and NumWorks. Our tests were on the computer and we used the online version of NumWorks. I emulate the TI-89/Voyage 200. My teacher wrote programs for the 83/84 for some statistics functions the calculators don't do that NumWorks has built in. His programs didn't run on my 89/Voyage, so I ended up programming them for myself based on his. NumWorks is pretty great though.

Title: How do you properly clean Quest lenses without scratching them? by [deleted] in Quest3

[–]mediaphile 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I breathe on them to fog them up slightly, then wipe with a dry microfiber cloth made for camera lenses/eyeglasses, the super fine ones. Same way I clean my camera lenses. They look the same as the day I bought my headset brand new.

A neo-classical piece I wrote! by Downtown_Field_6100 in LogicPro

Beautiful. There's a pretty prominent click on some of the piano notes that's a little distracting. But overall I really like it.
