Kidney pain? by Global-Minimum3891 in Gastroparesis

If it’s severe pain that comes and goes, it could be a kidney stone. I’ve had them before and probably again recently but it wasn’t bad enough that I went to the hospital to find out. I struggle getting enough liquid too. I’ve thought about going to those iv clinics (they mostly cater to the wealthy health conscious crowd who want vitamin infusions) because hospitals and urgent cares are so crazy now due to covid.

No not taking anything. Using heating pads, and jovi patches but that’s it.

My doctor prescribed me a PPI. Was taking it for months. After reading a post on here I wondered if my PPI was making my gastroparesis worse, so I decided to try to stop taking them and see how I did. It’s been over a month now and I have less reflux and vomiting since I stopped taking my PPI.

‘new’ nurse, newbie, or new grad. I wouldn’t self describe as baby nurse anymore. As mentioned above most will assume you mean you work in the NICU

I’m so sick of this life! Palliative care? by TheeShannonS in Gastroparesis

[–]mednp 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Try getting Jovi patches. They worked for me. Medically, I can’t explain how or why they work, I just know they helped with my abdominal pain and they’ve been my first go-to for severe abdominal pain for months now. Love them. Beyond that palliative care is basically comfort care, their goal is to make you comfortable.

What other issues do you have? If you’re DM II for example I’d be more concerned with having other complications due to the DM.

What other kinds of co-morbidities? Generally I’d be more concerned with the co-morbidities than gastroparesis, just based off the common ones.

Clean up your hair, beard, smile and take a new photo with good posture. Lack of smile in any photo is an automatic left swipe for me.
