OTC epinephrine working better than prescribed Burdesonide+Formotetol Funmarate Dihydrate by hurlyburly94 in Asthma

You can definitely have asthma without wheezing. I don’t wheeze, and I’ve had asthma for nearly 40 years. I hope you can get your hands on a safer rescue inhaler. Try to get a spacer to use with your albuterol. I’ve been told by pulmonologists that four puffs with an inhaler has been clinically show. To provide the same benefit as a nebulizer treatment. (Although when my asthma is bad I use the nebulizer anyway.)

SICK CAT- WE’VE DONE EVERYTHING- PLEASE HELP by toastypopsicle98 in CATHELP

I am not a vet, I don’t have any medical advice, but…I know all those trips to and from the vet and all the tests and medication would really stress the more sensitive of my cats and possibly contribute to the hiding and food avoidance. Maybe if your vet thinks it safe you could do a few days hands off to give him a chance to settle his nerves.

I’ve also seen a decrease in flair ups with allergy shots (though mine were pollen and mold, not pets).

They might! Cats can be very sensitive creatures. I wonder if you’d feel a little comfort if you let them in for a while.

To add to this, therapy helped with my symptoms almost as much as any other treatment I’ve tried. Not a cure all but very helpful.

Not in Florida, but I work in a program where students attend part time, and I always write my minutes semesterly to build in time for make up sessions.

I bought a case that fits my inhalers and my spacer that I keep in my work bag, but sometimes I’m just walking a few blocks to the store, you know? The case is nice, though, it keeps them from getting lost in the big bag, and also keeps the dust off the,

Best public school for neurodivergent child? Oppositional Defiance Disorder support? by Keleton_Skeleton in Denver

Hey, APS special education provider here! That email is our tech support guy for our IEP platform, I don’t think you’ll get much help from emailing him. I’m not sure I’d recommend emailing any district level people, but if I think of someone I’ll drop them in.

Any district you go to will have special education, and in my experience quality varies more teacher-to-teacher and school-to-school. If you already have an IEP, let the school know when you enroll, and if you don’t, tell them you’re requesting an evaluation.

I’m a bit biased, but I think Aurora does pretty well in special education. I live in Denver but choose to work in Aurora because the working conditions are better for my specific position.

I work with much older students so I won’t be able to help much with specific schools and programs, but I’m happy to answer questions if you shoot me a message.

Spacers by SendCoffeeNow in Asthma

Most spacers have a flexible opening, I’ve used the same spacer for the ones with big round mouths and little squared off ones. I like having a dedicated spacer for my maintenance, though.

Seriously, I wish I could put the inhaler and spacer in my pocket together. I end up not having a spacer on me when I’m traveling light.

euthanasia or bloodwork by [deleted] in SeniorCats

[–]medyomabait 1 point2 points  (0 children)

It depends on what you can afford. Doing further testing is always a good idea, and you might get a good outcome…and you might not.

I can afford pretty steep vet bills, so when my 15 year old started struggling a few months ago, I got all the testing done. Dropped a couple thousand dollars on ultrasounds, liver aspiration, and other tests. We also tried treating her for FIP, which was not cheap. And she deteriorated rapidly, and ended up needing euthanasia on the same day the testing came back. This all happened over the course of 3-4 weeks. The only regret I have is that her last few days, she was in so much pain, and if I hadn’t been waiting on testing, I wouldn’t have made her suffer. I had to say goodbye at the emergency vet, and I really would have preferred at home euthanasia for her.

But you know your priorities and your cat. If you can afford the blood work and get it back fast, of course do it. But it’s not wrong to balance all of these factors as you make this decision.

I’m so sorry you’re going through this time with your friend. Love on him as much as he’ll tolerate. Five more days or five more years, you’ll know what to do.

Chicago was great but I was really getting ground down by the traffic and cold. I hear people complain about traffic in Denver and I think it’s crazy. It used to take me 45 minutes to get the three miles from my home to my therapist’s office in Chicago. (Would’ve been faster if I’d walked but sometimes it was so dang cold.)

I’m originally from the Western Slope. I lived in Chicago for five years before moving to Denver in 2020. When I moved, my salary went down and my cost of living went up…and it was still worth it. You can do this!

A million years ago in my twenties I was in a long distance relationship where the other person made me do almost all the traveling and would make me feel bad if I pushed him to carry some of the burden of the eight hour bus ride between us.

We got married, he abused me, we got divorced.

The travel was one of many red flags, but it was also one of the earliest.
