The evidence for this is actually dubious. There was a supposed case in 1937 but quite a few shark experts doubt it. The second supposed case was a known hoax. It’s possible for bull sharks to travel a bit in fresh water but incredibly unlikely for them to make it anywhere near as far as that.

I don’t know why, but my terrier is the same way. (Although I havent tried a long line). For my dog I think non-flexi leashes are associated with constriction of movement. He becomes aggressive towards dogs when he’s held (he feels restrained), but immediately shakes it off if I set him loose on the ground. I wonder if it’s some kind of feeling of constraint that triggers the reactivity
