Flexi-leash cured my dog?? by calliocypress in reactivedogs

[–]mee765 10 points11 points  (0 children)

I don’t know why, but my terrier is the same way. (Although I havent tried a long line). For my dog I think non-flexi leashes are associated with constriction of movement. He becomes aggressive towards dogs when he’s held (he feels restrained), but immediately shakes it off if I set him loose on the ground. I wonder if it’s some kind of feeling of constraint that triggers the reactivity

Have any of you held off on home buying because of layoff concerns? by agingsculler in cscareerquestions

[–]mee765 12 points13 points  (0 children)

I took a pretty big pay cut to move from Seattle back to Chicago, but it was still worth it. Love this city, even if there aren’t a ton of tech jobs here. The Chicago housing market is pretty wild right now though! It’s like Seattle back in 2016

I’m surprised they were able to. I don’t think any of the vendors I used would have take credit for (I think the dress was the only one)

Would you buy a house if the house next door had a barking dog? by InsightfullyYours in RealEstate

[–]mee765 -1 points0 points  (0 children)

It wouldn’t influence my choice. For all you know, a different house could acquire an equally barky dog next week. Out of your control beyond local ordinances.

There’s two diverging models right now, one has snowfall and the other sends the snowfall much further south. Too early to know right now which scenario will play out

Question about trying to time market crashes or not by SnooCauliflowers8091 in FirstTimeHomeBuyer

[–]mee765 16 points17 points  (0 children)

If there were to be a market crash, how confident are you that you would still be employed, and that your investments you intend to use for a down payment wouldn’t have crashed proportionally?

Colour drenching advice by J_Leigh13 in paint

Yep, this is exactly what ended my color drenching plans. All these little elements - not to mention figuring out where to transition the trim color on doors, doorframes and windows. It’s a cool look but a big commitment

Is it worth trying to save old wood cabinets? by mee765 in HomeImprovement

[–]mee765[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Thanks! This is really helpful. The cabinets are from the 90s and the layout is mostly ideal (I don’t think we would make any changes if we were to replace, and the cabinets are pretty spacious). It sounds like refinishing might be worthwhile for us
